lol, the issue could be provoked quite easily by running 2 vram hungry applications at once and watching forza horizon 5 grow outside of that, it was oom.

This only occurs with eARC as a result of a flaw in eARC

Expected, the combination fix just reduces performance slightly, this will be the new performance going forward, and its still fully playable FPS.

I don't understand why some people are seeing the DWM Hags issue and some are not. I have a 3080 12Gb on Win 11 22/h2 and I do not see the issue (with any of the recent drivers) but have seen multiple 3080 users in this thread say that they do. What is the cause of this?

 

many people disable HAGs because it causes multimonitor issues, and gamestreaming doesn't work properly, those people obviously won't see an issue.

 

I don't seem to have any problems with GPU usage of dwm.exe with HAGS enabled on my 4090 or 3090 here on Windows 22H2 build 22621.819. It's mostly very low and 0 when idle.

 

The feature does operate better on 11 than it does 10, i haven't seen any break down of the issue occuring more or less on one OS vs another, but with most preferring not to use 11 for this reason or another it could very well be that factor.

No, I meant that I have HAGS enabled and some others on here with it enabled also don't see the issue.

 

For another data point, can confirm no dwm issues here on a Strix 3090, Win11 with HAGS enabled, while another PC on a 3060 running Win10 does exhibit the fault.

Yes, it is. The game has very good frame time variance when traversing the city since some of the earlier patches.
