I obviously do not know how work is structured over there but since the bug was so easy to reproduce I assume it would at least be present as an Open Issue by now. Anyway, all we can do is to calmly wait for an update.

    Great driver so far.
    Good performance & stability :D

Played FH5, BF2042 and some other games.

Driver is fine, same performance as about a year of previous driver updates.

I had big problems with RDR2 when I installed new drivers over the top of old ones, the issue went away with a clean install so I've done it that way ever since. I don't mind redoing NVCP every time, it gives me peace of mind knowing I've done everything I can to ensure it works as I want it to. The one thing I do find annoying is that, every time I install a new graphics card driver, my monitor driver gets overwritten by a generic one. I did wonder if that might have had something to do with the GSync issues people were having as a generic driver might not have had the feature in it. Maybe not....

Monitor drivers are just generic information about monitor stored in inf-file. And sometimes a color profile (icm-file) with horrible effect (my experience with 2 such color profile files from ASUS and DELL).
Such inf-files were necessary for CRT monitors because they supported a great variety of modes (and differed in many characteristics).

+ the game has been out already for ages.
What lost ark needs is an engine thats not barely 10 years old.Game pushes 3 cpu cores almost to the max and has memory issues. For some reason the game commits a large ammount of memory (between 8g-up to 12k as it goes up over time) and only actually uses sub 4GB.

    Hi @ManuelG ,

4k 10bits 23/24hz is not fixed. It's blurry and weird. I must choose 12 bits in driver for workaround :(

    Thanks.

Are you sure your PC was disconnected from Internet during installation?

Thanks for the into, I still like to have the actual driver for my monitor installed though.

Typical monitor drivers are not actual drivers though.

When there are several drivers sets for one device (for example, default one came with OS and OEM one downloaded from Internet) Windows builds ratings for each set and select drivers with higher rating.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/wi...etup-ranks-drivers--windows-vista-and-later-#:

So it can be that Windows selects its own driver for your monitor because of that.

Manuel is not one one of the software engineers.

who do you think compiled the information and presented it to Manuel in a quick easy repro method?

User Reports > QA(Manuel and team) > [Bug List](Bugs added as confirmed by QA start in Investigating status iirc) > Engineer assigned in due time based on severity and number of unique reports > [Buglist updates] > Document team addends the next set of release notes.

Also compiled reports from the google doc feedback form are done every Friday, California time, doesn't leave much room for document team to update for a driver released on Monday.

you updated with evga precision still open, so the power target reset to the minimum on the slider.

the last two drivers have been BS for anyone using a laptop with external display.

on my laptop (ROG Scar II 8750/2070) i use a remote display when i visit my (aging) mother. i use a TUF VG27aq 1440p 144Hz monitor there.

firstly there was a G-Sync issue with the drivers not recognizing the display. that was fixed
but far worse and still happening the fps is only recognized for 60Hz! (btw, same monitor on home system Adrenaline drivers rx6800xt hits 144Hz)

today the new (laptop) driver froze the system (like a bsod w/o blue) necessitating a reboot and a D/L of the international drivers from Nvidia's website instead of the GeForce experience.

it works fine now... at 60 F'Ing Hz

Oh, well, I'll stick with what I have for now. Maybe I'll leave it alone when the next driver comes out, we'll see...

Dude, I am similar to you in the fact that I like to install the correct monitor driver for the sake of correctness if nothing else. However, there is some info missing from the various replies to your post. You have questioned why the monitor/s driver/s get replaced with generic each time you update your gpu driver. You have also stated that you use DDU to remove all traces of the previous driver. If you watch the uninstall logs of DDU as it cleans the previous driver, you will observe the removing of your monitor drivers also.

Solution : Open settings of DDU, look at first option under 'General', remove the tick (checkbox) to prevent DDU from removing the monitor drivers. Job done ;)

Food for thought everyone : Wise men speak when they actually have something to say. Fools speak when they feel they must say something! o_O

My friend, could this be possibly linked to the EDID recognition issue that is present in the current 511.xx drivers? The issue manifests itself by limiting the display to the wrong resolution & refresh rate. The cause was Nvidia updating the EDID reference library within the driver I believe  @Astyanax posted a link to a thread containing a brief explanation of the issue & the steps needed for Nvidia to successfully remedy the issue. A remedy that they are relying on the end user to assist them with I might add...

Take a look at that thread. If it applies to you then your on your way to the solution. If not you learned something that may help someone else in the future :p
