    ^^
    Conclusion

Based on our previous results and findings, we recommend Ampere and Turing users to update to the latest GeForce 511.23 driver.
Its raw performance and smoothness or frametimes consistency level are overall on par with our previously recommended driver 497.29 using both NVIDIA GPU architectures.

    Note:
Yup :p and there is some uplift for slower CPUs IMhO (ex. my 3700X).

I've observed this on my RIG, in Forza H5...
in 3080Ti thread i've posted some benches (1440p/4K) with 3800X :p just in case ;)

    Better driver cpu overhead maybe?

This video does mention various cpu optimisation and it's probably a massive stretch to connect it with the latest drivers as this seems to be laptop only for now but I don't see why the same optimisations can't be also be seen on desktops.

    Related perhaps?

0 difference in AC Odys. here, still runs slightly better with DXVK.

I have above 4g on too, but I doubt it's anything with that.

I only saw that blackscreen once by logon when I enabled MSI mode, on next reboot. I somehow fixed it quick by signing out and back in. Haven't seen it since.

I noticed it before but decided to try again, I have micro stutter with this driver in most games I play. Some more noticable than others.
So I went back to 497.29 which is smooth for me and works just as fast fps wise.

    Same as me.
Other users have reported the same on these drivers.
Hope nVidia can fix this issue in a future release.

They clearly stated this was only enabled for some selected notebooks (for now, at least). They didn't even say if the hardware block is present on desktop GPUs or not. And in theory, the hardware block could be physically present on all desktop GPUs but the desktop cards might not be tested to have it in a functioning state (just like how not all compute blocks are functional and cut off from the chip to make cheaper SKUs compared to the fully functional high-end parts).

I hope they'll fix custom refresh rate at standard resolution... not working anymore for me

Because WHQL is almost meaningless and has nothing to do with whatever problem you have.

CRU + Custom setup is strongly reccomended for any GPU IMhO.

Noticing a weird black line/flash/glitch in Chrome.

Edit: Just seems to be the way this site loads actually?

I have mine enable always use to install with gfe drivers, with a clean install and never got any problems

Same, not with GFE included though.
Doesn't even makes sense that above 4g decoding on or off should affect if a clean installed Nvidia driver gives black screens or not, at least when it comes to cards that support it
