No it most certainly isn't. It's just sharper than the TAA output which is typical because TAA blurs the image.

Sorry, but no, it is oversharpened badly. The game's own sharpen with DLSS looks like total trash vs. even extreme CAS strengths like 2.0, it's a ringing hell (especially in motion). The hex editor patching that was linked here elsewhere to remove that awful sharpen with DLSS makes a difference as night and day.

The game is, installed on a SSD... my monitor is a 3440x1440 144hz alienware ultrawide.. and for some reason this game will not start up if i have msi afterburner running in the background with rivatuner it just starts then quits right away, i have to close those apps then the game starts up lol
i dont have stuttering issues with any other games just this game... and i have played lots of other games on my rig... i look at the hdd activity light when im playing and its stuttering and it shows no issues i also use task manager to look for hdd activity and it shows the drive barely being used....

its a strange issue i have like tried everything, only thing i havent tried yet is reverting drivers i will give that a try later tonight.

I recorded short vid showing weird artifacts in Far Cry 6, not sure if my GPU is dying or is it just game + drivers combo..

Try setting shadow to medium or below, I have the same problem.

I saw the video and you are right, strangely I don't have these problems and believe me, I would have noticed them as I am extremely sensitive to this known "stutter area load", in PC games and I can point out a lot of games that have this problem, it always takes me out of the experience, this is why I hate UE4 with a passion. As for this game could be because I am not playing at over 60 fps, but I couldn't say tbh.

EDIT: Nvm, I DO HAVE the stutters, but they seemed to me like some sort of VRAM limitation or something else limiting that performance, but Alex just showed an area where I would always have a slight fps drop, but I blamed that on VRAM, turns out that isn't the case, it's a "suttter portal". What I can say is that I have less stutter "portals" from what Alex presented on the video, I had a few random fps drops where you are at the boat at that relatively small area with the sea, but again these seemed like fps drops based on other limitations and I was thinking that it was due to my PC not being that fast for this game.

Let's hope this issues get ironed out, but since it's an engine limitation, it probably won't.

The game runs fine with MSI Afterburner and RTSS for me. Are you using the latest version of Afterburner? If not, fully uninstall both and install the latest version.
If you do and you're overvolting and/or overclocking your settings may be too aggressive or your fan curve not aggressive enough, as if you turn of Afterburner, the system should revert to defaults.

I'm not sure why you're seeing massive stutters, as I'm not getting any on my system. It might be something configuration specifc. Are you using an old version of AutoHDR (now known as AutoActions in the latest versions), by any chance? Some older versions had high CPU usage spikes that caused extreme stuttering. Check any other programs you may be running in the background for CPU (and possibly GPU) usage as well.
Mabe check for conflicting overlays, too.

Uninstall MSI Afterburner and RivaTuner fully and do a clean install for both programs, they give me no issues whatsoever in GoW. Also you say your game is on an SSD, but then you mention "HDD activity", just make fully sure your game is running on an SSD, when I tried the game I decided to give a shot on my mechanical HDD and it was pretty bad, unplayable even, I moved it to the SSD and problem solved, super smooth.

Oh forgot to say what fixed it hahaha its night and day difference so smooth now. and the problem was wait for it :D ........... gforce experiance, there built in overlay was bugged and causing this massive stuttering issue. once i disabled it in gforce experiance the issue completely and utterly fixed.... :D thats why it took me ages to figure out cause i thought something like that would never cause this type of issue. but well that was the fix :D

I got a lot of stuttering with these drivers. Don´t know the reason, that´s why I asked.
Bit I never install Geforce experience. So that´s not it.

But do you get the Ansel popup?
If so disable it or go as far as disabling and removing nvcamera from the drivers install folder in DriverStore.

Insurgency Sandstorm does use Ansel. It it still runs, even with Geforce Experience not installed.
Might try that to see if it helps. This was the game where I noticed the most stuttering.

What a great reminded to never use GFE, I never do it anyway, but if I ever consider it, I will be sure to remember this.

I have a GTX 1080 ti and the exact same issue except that after using DDU in safe mode, any previous driver now causes the system to go to a black screen! Only a full windows reinstall seems to fix it. There's exactly the same reports on the NVidia forums too. I hope DDU gets updated to undo the damage this 511 driver is doing so at least people would be able to revert back to a working driver without a full OS reinstall!

I installed this 500 series driver, but didn't convince me at all, made RDR2 stutter a lot, so I used DDU and went back to my usual driver without a problem, remember that you must use DDU in Safe Mode and then install any driver the normal way.
