Looks like the 511.23 are suffering frame rate issues and stuttering ( of which I've have noticed in all games I play, just by going from 511.09 to 511.23 without DL DSR )

I upgraded to this driver version on my 3080 Ti and started experiencing strange "underperforming" issues in all 3D applications. Games I could easily run at 160 frames were now bogging down at 60.
Games tested: Halo Infinite, Apex Legends

giving random game crashing and stuttering.. reverted back to 497.09 (early december update and everything is back to normal

The newest driver killed the performance of my gtx 1060, BF4 ran at 1440P with around 120-140fps, now i barely get 70

3080 here. This driver is causing stuttering in OW for me.
Rolling back the driver resolves the issue.

anyone else getting a 2-3 second stutter every minute or so?
gaming or just general use, since i updated, it’s been happening.

-50 avg fps on bf2042. Nice stuff.

This driver dropped my frames on fh5 by 10-15. 3080ti here, had to rollback to previous god of war runs just fine on older driver too

    etc

Awh. I just noticed madVR no longer gets 10 bit mode in windowed fullscreen mode. May be this is what solved my stuttering issue. But in that case, it was a bad move from nVidia. I want working, stutter-free 10 bit movie playback with madVR!

Just tried Overwatch with 3060, as usual smooth as silk (including Reflex).

Works for me, reports 10 bit and no stuttering (as MPO are disabled with 10 bit).

Still hope Nvidia and Microsoft can work something out for the unfortunate MPO stutter situation.

Those two look more like user errors.

    Just do the Vsync Challenge

(Any notes on the specifics of the audio update, except the Dolby part? Can someone with an AVR confirm what kind of audio Windows sends if it's set to Atmos for Home Theater?)

    Not AGAIN, nvidia... o_O
How long it will take to provide a proper software to YOURS hardware (most of the time - custom designs have own "special features/benefits/horrors) ?
So many tips and tricks and tests (performed by NOT HIRED/PAYED USERS) just to be able to play (or work) without crashes, colour inaccuracy, shimmering, banding, BSOD's, freeze's, DDU, clean install OS, reinstall OS, changing cables, ports, monitor's, 3rd party software... So many permutation's/possibility's to tests... So mach time sacrificed to find ONE semi-correct/working setup for, very often ONE application... It is a Bloody Nightmare... There should be some kind of a class action lawsuit against Nvidia on behalf of their software/hardware users... For compensation for long hours of tests they are semi-forced (by Nvidia incompetence to provide stable working solution) to go through to get something to work to some degree...

Can confirm that installing drivers with EVGA Precision running does reduce the power target / thermal target and is the cause for the major framerate drops.

Enabling the old scaling and sharpening in 511.23 for Pascal and Maxwell cards also returns performance if scaling is enabled - https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/n...wnload-discussion.441442/page-14#post-5983437

Yes, there are always several people in the driver threads who obviously forgot to turn off their Precision X during driver install and complain and report low performance. From what I understand NV does coarse performance testing for each driver and such issues would definitely stand out.

You can move to team red if you are disappointed. And let's see what amd bring better to you that nvidia doesn't. Try it and come again to tell us how many times amd drivers suck, or are broken.

After testing several games, my conclusion is that Nvidia's claims that DLSDR is up to 2x better in performance than DSR just doesn't hold up in the real world, where the majority of people are using medium powered GPU's and PC's. Maybe at Nvidia headquarters with top of the range hardware their claims might be true. The difference I've noticed between DLDSR - DSR is +/- 5FPS.

Please give us a link where NVidia stated this and where to find it.

In the real world rendering in 2.25x of native resolution will be ~2X faster than rendering in 4X of native resolution unless you're limited by something besides the GPU. You don't need any testing to arrive to this conclusion, and it just holds up nicely because, you know, physics.

I been keeping eye on this thread for these drivers as I think of upgrading, are we say the low prefer and stutters happen for people having all left precision x or what ever running when installing drivers? Which would be none issue to me, seeing I dont use precsison x and when I do use MS AB it only on rare occasions like when I change drivers to make sure fps and power use is where it should be for my game that are running 60fps it is manual started. I certainly dont leave em running, at most I would have custom fan speed used that, change the speed on boot with out actual start AB and i dont even do that anymore

i found out that the new nvidia driver sets my clock core in idle to 1708MHz instead of 210 MHz that caused that my fan worked with 1000 RPM in idle and the memory temp to 68°c in idle instead of 50°c ..... the result of all was broken fps in all games and stutter
i set the 3d settings to default and power management to adaptive (then restart) to get rid of that problem and it works now.
tested even on my second system which had the same problems with the newest driver..
i rolled back to 497.29 on one system and the second system has stilll the 511.23 driver but with normal clock core now.
