That's possible. The Ampere Launch driver 456.38 is still the one that performs best on my RTX 3090 Strix*, for example. Then again, they had to nerf the driver due to more badly engineered cards biting the bucket, which shouldn't be the case this time.

* Except where Resizable BAR helps a lot, as the driver doesn't support it.

 

no not exclusive RTX series also GTX 1660 Super and other GTX Cards will be supported,like the studio drivers do

Have you head of this broadcast issue?

- When I have Nvidia Broadcast enabled (Microphone enabled)
- And play say COD Warzone (Exclusive Fullscreen)
- Then ALT-TABBING is broken/bugged as follow:
First Alt-TAB works and you end up on the desktop, then when you want to ALT-TAB back it leads to a black screen for a short while and then goes back to desktop
I can repeat alt-tab 10 times with same result

Workaround:
I keep spamming left mouse button after pressing alt-tab to go back into game, that sometimes opens the game properly.

I have seen this behavior on Windows 10 and Windows 11 on all driver and broadcast versions.
Disabling Nvidia Broadcast fixes it straight away.

My setup:
RTX 3090
CPU 5950x
...

Is this a known issue?
Can I help to trace it down?

 

I filed a bug for this a while back but QA nor myself could reproduce this. Can you send me your MSINFO32 file to driverfeedback@nvidia.com in case any other apps you have open in the background contribute to this? Please include in your email what other apps you generally keep open when you play COD with NVIDIA Broadcast open. Thanks.

Was the installer sorry, for the pedantic, driver package still 7xx.xxMB for one card?

 

This is not the case here. If anything it may perform a little worse on my (old) 3080 than 497.29. I didn't expect any difference, but I thought I could give it a try - just for the rumours ^^

Oh okay. I somehow mixed things up in the post and thought you talked about audio cut outs in the game. So it's still Ubisoft's DRM then.

 

Interesting. On my card, it reaches higher clocks and holds them longer than with later drivers, which also leads to slightly better performance long-term as well as overclockability. That said, it isn't all that much, and in games that benefit from Resizable BAR or games optimized in newer drivers or in VR (the launch drivers still had the VR bug) the latter take the lead.

 

@Cave Waverider I guess I have to make myself clear as I think you misunderstood what I wanted to say: This 511.17 aren't faster than the 497.29. I just wanted to try this as someone said it might be a performance Driver for the all new 3080. I was not talking about the 30x0 Launch Driver. I am not sure if I ever tried these...

And I want to apologize for bloating this thread with another Post that wouldn't have been necessary if I had made myself clear in the first Post.

 

This test shows that 511.17 is 3.5% faster. At least on the 3080ti 12GB

If it's not any faster on a standard 3080, it might suggest that this driver is tuned to the 3080 12gb somehow. I guess we'll only find out when later drivers which support all SKUs are released.

EDIT: I've just noticed that the reviewer said that 511.17 only made a difference in AC Valhalla.

It's faster on my 3080. And that's with rebar disabled in bios. So I'm gonna keep it for now. vRan a couple of games, then did some benches, repeated the benches after a reboot, and scores were consistent the same. Usually it's slightly lower after a reboot.

 

When I was 11, 3 days was a looooong time.

last nvidia broadcast driver worked fine for my webcam , but latest now only picks up obs virtual cam not the actual webcam itself, but if i load obs . Obs finds my camera just fine. What gives?
