NVIDIA GeForce 496.13 WHQL driver download & Discussion

I tried 493.13 again with Cold War with Unlimited and Disabled Shader cache the game still crashed out right with the same error, i have submitted feedback to both yourselves and Activision/Raven/Treyarch about the issue too.

There is something clearly in the Season 6 update that broke some things however two heads are better then one. I ended up reverting back to 472.12.

The 493.13 install was just after doing a DDU run.

DXDIAG is with 472.12 drivers installed however it is given for system specs etc.

Also the crash doesn't even cause it to show in event viewer or a dump file either for windows unless your after the game dump logs.

From looking in the zip myself the following is in the stack trace

So, it should be easy to just follow his request and send a .dmp file from one of these "alleged 100+ users, right?!"

 

Its not alleged 100 is not real its alot more just see it for your self, on nvidia forums its alot more this is on all forums, but a fix is available reverting the driver fixes the issue.

Also i have already sent the dump from Coldwar to @ManuelG via email as well. However it doesn't make a full dump file in %LOCALAPPDATA%\CrashDumps nor a mini dump when it crashes.

 

Over 100-hrs with these drivers (all OC's /utilities dismantled BEFORE clean install) and I am having smooth gameplay with Cold War /Modern Warfare (2019) but a pesky issue here and there at first in other applications but nothing a good old purge, reinstall / REBOOT can't completely fix.

Time and time again has proven, numbers of users' issues = to those same amounts of claims are having other system issues.

There *could be* something here but not answering to the request, and playing the #metoo card, helps no one. So, that one or 100+ *alleged issues* are NOT A VALIDATION to a confirm driver regression, etc. BUT, just a simple "request that's asked to confirm those complaints" costs nothing but a few minutes of your time.

 

Your the only person so far in this forum that says COD black ops runs fine. Theres atleast 20 people in this forum alone saying it crashes with these drivers.

 

The issue was resolved with 471.11 on 9.0
and then 9.1 came out and the issues resumed without any change to the driver - on any of the 470 drivers after 9.1

No. the driver is not the cause in this scenario. the Root issue from 430 affected more than just WoW and the other cases remain fixed too, (forza, resident evil, dmc5, etc to list some previously affected).

Blizzard have released an update which has an issue on nvidia hardware, blizzard should fix said issue. D3D12 games cannot be fixed with hacks

ColdWar 1.24 introduced an issue where its shader baking could produce faulty shaders in some cases, cases have spiked with 496.13 because its more intensive on systems and exposing any that have weaknesses in operation.

Activision are tracking it since then

They can't even follow instructions and use the feedback form in the first post of his thread on the nvidia forums.

COD uses its own exception handler, any errors are immediately sent off to them, if you pull the internet right after the crash you might be able to pull the dump file right out of the game folder.

Correct, >100 users is well within the realm of the margin of error for exclusions of system or environment fault.

Others have turned off XMP and suddenly the game works fine.

 

Cold War is updating as we speak, perhaps that will solve the crashes for some

Any way to just use the freestyle filters without all the bloatware that geforce experience has ? I hate useless crap that is eating up my ram. Is there a NVslimer for geforce experience ?

Can also report sporadic crashes to desktop with the latest 496.13 drivers on my RTX 2070 Super via Call of Duty

 

Division 2 crashed once after like 45 mins since i have played 5 hours in 2 sessions with no crash

no other games i have tried have crashed either

after install this driver delete the dxcache folder in appdata local nvidia that will resolve most texture issues

 

Anyone played newworld with these drivers,
my amd cpu seems to only use 4 threads max onn my 32thread cpu 5950x
and inn towns and places around the map fps is very low.... i think its due to the low cpu usage
is there anyway to fix this...... game is all maxed out @3440x1440p 3090GPU

 

its cryengine(lumberyard) which doesn't scale with core count, you're seeing the usual mmo cpu hit.

 

This driver makes VALORANT have lag issues at times, and overall can't perform well. Went back to the previous driver, using the standard version of the driver which Nvidia so unwisely seems to have chosen to remove as an option... and perfect again, no issues, winning every match.


Please at least provide a Standard version of the drivers, as now I cannot even be sure if the problem is the newer driver itself... or just due to the format change from the old format of the previous driver which was Standard, to this new driver that is DCH.

 

there is nothing about dch vs standard that can do anything to performance, the kernel drivers and libraries are installed to the same places as they have been since windows 10 1607

 

i think it is due the lot if updates , i had the same thing with Warzone i uninstalled the game cleaned up the registry with ccleaner and Yamicsoft windows 11 manager (i run win 11)
then i downloaded the full game no crashes anymore while playing Warzone

 

I have none of the above issues with this driver
