Always run max performance, always run 70% fan speeds on the 980 GTX using Msi Afterburner, never goes over 65C :) - Thanks for the help though, going back to the 466.79 has cured the issue

Hey guys does anyone know a way to use this upgraded sharpener without Geforce Experience? I always use NVcleaninstall and get rid of as much Bloat/Spyware as possible especially "Geforce experience" but seems this would be better than the control panel sharpener which I love to use with almost every game/app. Thanks maybe Reshade or replace the control panel sharpener?

I can't believe it. Is this real life? Fixed after 7 months, more if you count the beta.

    @ManuelG
I noticed another thing with these and previous drivers:

The video card clocks scaling (up) doesn't work properly with anything higher than 1440p resolution.

Opening any browser (any windows resolution less than 4k) and playing 4k video content or even opening youtube and scrolling the videos main window keeps the clocks idle 99% of the time.
Change that (in youtube) to anything lower (720p 1080p 1440p) and clocks react to scrolling or playing scaling higher to 400/800MHz clocks + (probably different P state).

Change Windows resolution to 4k and same is happening, clocks remain mainly in idle mode despite 50%+ gpu usage.
Any resolution lower and clocks react much better (higher) to anything desktop related.

This is using optimal mode (power)

Is this intended because to me makes sense going for a higher resolution/quality (windows/browser) should actually increase clocks even higher for better performance ?

Funny how they never mention anything about call of duty and its the first time in a while that I can play without random crashing.

How come my directx diag says WDDM 2.7 and my driver has a date of 6/20/2021?

Are you using the Windows Insider Dev Channel preview build? This is the only Windows build with WDDM 3.0 support I believe. It shows WDDM 3.0 for me here. Standard Nvidia drivers supporting WDDM 3.0 means that WDDM 3.0 is already on the way for everyone anyway, so don't bother with the Dev channel Windows builds unless you're in it already.

Had a couple of crashes in Doom Eternal with this driver. I'm not alone as a few are reporting the same within Steam's forum.

Both GFE Sharpening and AMD CAS exist for ReShade. No idea whether you get the same quality and performance as GFE (or CAS for that matter).
Some games/anticheats don't play nice with ReShade so keep that in mind.

edit: apparently there's a new Sharpen+ filter which I didn't notice, you meant this one? I don't think it's available anywhere outside of Freestyle.

@ManuelG Optimus seems to be broken with this driver. I have submitted the Display Driver Feedback Form

Don't get too excited about sharpen+ if your use case is upscaling from lower res. The normal sharpen should be better for that, since the GPU upscaler will blur the image quite uniformly, so you want your sharpen filter to also sharpen uniformly to mitigate the uniform blur.

It seems to me sharpen+ is more intended to be used to sharpen native resolutions.
