Which GPU you have and what settings/resolution is this? I am using High settings with ultra textures on 2070 Super Vulkan API and scheduling On, GSync off and i have no improvement - still 65 fps on average in benchmark.

With HAGS enabled, I get random hangups which last for 1-3 seconds. They look a lot like gpu driver crashing and then restarting itself, but I can't find any logs of such with Event viewer. I've also had occassional game crashes.

So far I have only tested these on couple of different Quake games and they both run at several hundred, even thousand fps, which maybe has something to do with it?

The hangups occur a lot more often if I also enable message signaled interrupts for the GPU.

HAGS disabled I haven't ran into such problems.

This happens on Win10 2004 with i7 6850k and MSI Gaming X 1080ti, running Quake Live from Steam.

Oh, and I also have that weird delay in the animaton, when dragging certain windows around the desktop, for example CPU-Z.

    edit:
Doing a clean install of Win10 2004 fixed the hangus for me completely.

Cod Warzone crashes on me on every Game i start with Dev Error 6068, something with direct x as far as i could look up. Never happened to me before, started when updating to this driver and enabling HAGS.

Did perform an update through GFE and didn't DDU beforehand - i never do because i hardly run into issues.

That's beside the point. The problem here is that any app that is not HW accelerated has screen tearing. Heck, even Windows Explorer has screen tearing. Just look at this crap: https://1drv.ms/v/s!ArqdydqOzYIbht1QcAIeCH0fri1cjg?e=rSzfu6
This behavior wasn't there in v446.14 or any older driver. Here is proof: https://1drv.ms/v/s!ArqdydqOzYIbht1PVVHCsuA_W4Q4eA?e=gy7ldV
Bottom line is that this is a regression that was introduced in the very first WDDM 2.7 driver and wasn't fixed since then.

Really? You're wrong. Very old random crash, I think that Infinity Ward don't know how to fix this: https://trello.com/c/Nr0PTSep

Windows 10 2004 reinstalled, 451.48 installed, even ran DDU offline as well just in case and installed them twice and the feature level is still stuck DX12_1 with mesh shading disabled.

DXDIAG, NCP and GPUZ all report DX12_1. No idea if MS or Nvidia is to blame for this one.

The Dxgkrnl.sys is running in an entirely new mode when scheduling is active, so i don't think its possible.

I hope 21h1 developers it further so that it can be toggled on the fly.

Per Engine resets will not log errors.

    12_2 does not exist.

    It will.... but doesn't yet.

GPU-Z is a reporting error, like i said earlier in the thread.

I hate this error because its never the driver on its own (or the driver at all tbh) but something that a recent windows or game update has rendered unstable when used / injected into the game process.

Explorer is composited, it is accelerated.
Unless you turn aero off or use a custom theme which can break compositor vsync..... its on your end.

Yeah that's not happening then, Kernel level but that makes sense for being a deeper change to the OS or how to call it.

Would be through a update to Windows then to expand on it further like having it either driver or perhaps OS profile controlled for which of these two modes to use or perhaps rather having a fallback to the older mode for known problematic games and other software as support in the GPU drivers is implemented across NVIDIA, AMD and Intel plus possible updates as needed for the OS.
(But that would land in newer full builds I think.)

I see no improvement with the GPU Scheduling on except occasional 1 fps increase but increased temperatures as well so i will leave it to off for now. It seems they would have to work more on it to make it really an considerable option for me to use. Like all new things it will require time to settle in properly.

Hey, since Im using G-sync in conjunction with vsync and my frames per second are within the hz threshold of my monitor, vsync never activates unless it goes above or below my hz threshold. So i never notice any input lag to the best of my knowledge

Yeah, well it seems like it only worked that one time for me, i got that frame drop again this morning after a fresh reboot.. looks like it was just a snake oil fix . Seems like something deeper going on, either within the game or the driver...

Max fps is of course going to be lower in many cases.

It's not true, when HAGS on you get less fps, a performance decrease, maybe a stable framerate, but no fps gain at all, and when game mode enabled also, it's worse.
