Guess we will never know if this is a driver is worth testing until we figure out if it is a new or old branch! Wow confrontational much about nothing?

    Regards

Yeah R390 is still the main family but branch is new R391, one time I saw 3 numbers difference from a family.. Think it was R380 that was all the way up to 384..

Anyway, I did some quick tests and so far its within marginal error.. Will run my usual candidates now

    Edit:

Tested few cpu bound and hw physx games and its the same as 390.77 or 391.01, 1-2fps faster or slower on avg, min stayed the same.

I'm more interested in 144HZ DSR displayport 1.2 glitches, Vulkan and OpenGL have it, OpenGL a little less.. Both can lock to 60HZ and huge mouse lag.
COD BO3 144HZ DSR, but here when gpu usage hits max it starts using cpu to the max.. its like the game/driver offloads extra work to cpu?

The stuttering problems that many users saw introduced with 390, still aren't listed as known issues or as fixed. I'm not even going to bother with this. Sticking with 388.84.

I've never been one to stick to an old version before. I'm starting to see why people are posting asking 'what's going on with the drivers lately'.

Thank you for taking the time to test it and sorry I couldn't get to it before you did. Did you by any chance get to test anything else before reverting back? So pretty much these drivers aren't installing if you aren't playing fc5 (even then only boosts it by 1-2fps)?
Have you tried 391.24? At least for me they are pretty good drivers.

nah frack that. driver should work fine without DDU. Clean install is only if you want to quick reset all settings, you shouldnt clean instal unless went wrong before, like corruption or black screen

rolling back fixed the stuttering btw

We've gone off topic talking about the driver and performance now, go back to the branch.

On a serious note, this drive is running PUBG & FFXV without issues for me, same performance as before. Haven't tested Far Cry 5 yet.

And again I managed to restrain myself from participating in this branch fight. (And you should know how hard it was for a programmer.) I am definitely cool!

In general it's a good practice to clean install between drivers. Not doing so is only asking for trouble.
