It's PUBG which i believe is D3D11. I've the "disable fullscreen optimizations" checked but it doesn't matter because it also doesn't show up with it unchecked.

Might be because of the xbox app, idk.

One more bug on these - the driver always defaults back to 8 bit color output in NV's color settings on OS reboot (Win10 1709).

I've tried enable the game mode for FIFA 18, still stutters, so I just disabled it.

I have to reiterate something I said before.

Driver version 388.00 is the best driver. It gives zero stutters in Wolf 2, and CSGO the main two game I play currently.

388.10 and 388.13 both give this 1-2 seconds stutter when turning mouse or strafing side ways in these two games.

With 388.00 its butter smooth even with MSI AB running in background (I dont use RTSS and I dont have GSYNC enabled).

BF1 stutter and frame drops from time to time. Not always, but it's there enough to make me uninstall and revert to 388, which I agree is the best driver, full stop. I didn't get stutter in Wolfenstein though, but pubg performance wasn't as good as 388.

I did read that this "fullscreen optimizations" are applied namely to fullscreen borderless mode and basically it is new presentation mode where they bypass composer (DWM ?), and hence vs-sync and triple buffering do not affect the game. Dude was testing this and since he saw screen tearing he made such conclusion.

I don't think that this was the case on any of the previous R387 drivers.

No, they apply to D3D11 games which request exclusive fullscreen and force them to run in what is essentially a flavor of windowed borderless. Which may or may not bypass the compositor - windowed borderless mode behavior in Win10 is a bit of a flux since different builds produce different results and generally D3D11 games which run in EFS emulation have the same behavior as D3D9 and D3D12 games.

but borderless window (i.e. fullscreen optimizations = always enabled by default unless "disable fullscreen optimizations" is checked in properties on any games exe?) can produce a lot of frame drops and stutters vs exclusive fullscreen mode, so why not just disable this new windows 10 feature "fullscreen optimizations", globally, for all games?

I don`t get why you compare borderless fullscreen mode with exclusive fullscreen mode and then talk about "disable fullscreen optimizations". You should compare borderless mode with "fullscreen optimizations" and borderless mode without "fullscreen optimizations".

With ingame set to exclusive mode, having fullscreen optimizations can force a borderless windowed mode, hence the point of disabling it.

Yesterday I tried to go back to F1 2015, I couldn´t because it runs like crap, skipping, hitching, skipping. Crazy, by 351.xx it was already perfect.

I don't know about documentations but I've seen it first hand.

    All bugs for :
=> Black screen when lauching games as BF1 throgh Origin and Overwatch through Blizzard (Alos with 388.00..)
=> Impossible to alt-tab in DOOM Vulkan, or black screen and hard reboot necessary.
=> Sometimes my GTX 1080 Ti (flashed with EVGA FTW3 Bios) stays at stock frequencies during game, even overcloked.
=> One fan of my GTX 1080 Ti is not running at idle (With Bios EVGA FTW3).

    Ok guys, stop.

    Back to 388.00.

    These 388.13 are terrible...

Hey is the Kelper fix in .10 carried over to these? If so does it only apply to the new Wolf game or all games? I'm currently on 388 and Destiny 2 is buttery smooth at high settings. With all the bug claims with this driver I don't want to mess that up. My gpu is a GTX 870M. I also play Overwatch, Black Ops 3 and Outlast all in vr so any stutter is a strain for me.

Regardless of its effect may be it will be useful to have a tool for searching exe-files and turning this setting on/off for a selected ones?

    Yep it would be.

Quite annoying to have to set it for every single game/benchmark etc.
There is no system-wide option to disable it.

Mxgp2 stutters with all latest drivers, tested on 355 on my second windows, smooth as butter. So because of microstuttering and hitches, f1 2015 broken, mxgp2 broken, Project cars 2 broken... I´ll test moto gp 15 now.

Ps.- Yeah in motogp there are ocassional image skips too, even the animations in menu look rough.

Back to 361.6 and those games work smoothly again, pff even entering photo mode in f1 2017 doesn´t ruin my frame rate for the rest of the race anymore. 361.6 best driver for F1 2015 and 2017. 37x and 38x have been nothing but trouble.
