Big problem with Sniper Elite V2 (scope)

    TEXTURE FLICKERING (First Mission)

    http://de.tinypic.com/r/2nqeexd/8

    Tested with:
    337.50/337.88 and the 340.43 driver

    Last working Driver
    335.23 (No flickering etc.)

Video Card : GTX780 (NO OC)

It does not happen constantly but very often.

    FYI

nVidia should have the Asus GPU Tweak fixed in the next driver.

Will that fix my problem with GPU Tweak Wangard? My 580 doesn't use GPU Boost.

Have you tried using MSI Afterburner to OC with?

I use ASUS cards and still refer to MSI AB.

Yeah, I can OC it with Afterburner but I cant control my fans with it. I think it's because both of my fans can be controlled independently so GPU Tweak is the only software that can control them.

    GPU Tweak
    NVIDIA Inspector
    EVGA Precision
    MSI Afterburner

As you can see in the screenshots only GPU Tweak lets me software that can control them.

As a work around though I just have to set my fans speed in GPU Tweak (which will brake my clocks) and then enable my OC with Afterburner, which will get my clocks working again.

I used to use msi ab. Had it on autostart (Im very conservative with what I autostart). But it doesnt support 64x executables. I really wish there was a really good program that could do everything I need in terms of tweaking (inspector), limiting fps, image quality, overclocking and whatnot.

Ahh I use custom fan profiles in AB, but I just link them. The bottom card usually spins slower anyway due to it being cooler. Since it may reach say only 55C, it spins at 50%, while the top card reaches say 75C, the fan spins at 70%. The cards are linked in the profile, but still spin differently due to different temps.

Yes it does. Has for a while now. It's RTSS that you are referring to, just make sure it's up to date.

I can confirm that I'm seeing a lot of texture flickering too when using the sniper scope or binoculars to zoom in, especially noticeable on buildings and shadows, otherwise the issue is not so frequent.

TotalBiscuit also showed the issue in his WTF is...Sniper Elite III video although he did not mention the driver he was using. I suspect this is an engine issue as I've also seen it in the PS4 version as well, albeit it seems somewhat worse in the PC version.

both games have many problems with NV currenty.

    SNIPER ELITE V3

340.43 - MANY FRAMEDROPS DIRECTLY IN THE FIRST MISSSION (GTX780)
337.50/88 - No framedrops but Texture Flickering (Second Mission)
    The First Mission runs perfectly

    -------------------------------------------------------------

    SNIPER ELITE V2

Texture Flickering with 337.88 WHQL, 340.43 BETA

    http://de.tinypic.com/r/2nqeexd/8

Both games have not even one problem with 335.23 WHQL
60fps constantly and no flickering (Ultra Settings, No SSAA)

    My card : GTX780

    http://pcgameshardware.de/Sniper-Elite-3-PC-257042/Specials/Technikanalyse-und-Benchmarks-1127251/

    I confirm runs horrible with 340.43 on GTX780 (MIN_FPS)

As i said with 335.23 smoother than butter with GTX780 and no flickering.
    Constantly 60fps with VSYNC

AMD works closely with Rebellion together.
This is not a Random imo.

    Google Translator, sorry guys.

Good for you that one of them will fix the bug.

I was not wrong because I wrote most generic/common approach - to report bug to the utility`s developer. :nerd:

Here you say that 3rd party tools shouldn't be fixed by nvidia. Asus gpu tweak wasn't the problem in the 1st place, what are u talking about???

    Nvidia created this bug.

not taking sides with this, but it not so straight forward . My bet is Nvidia and Asus talked and decided which one was easy/best to fix it .

Sometimes company X makes changes , these are ok changes with respect to a spec but company B code worked fine before but tech was out of spec .
It can go either way depending on what changed .

Main thing it seems it getting fixed for those that use GPU tweak .

What are you using to verify refresh rate/FPS in game?
