The problems aren't there with 314.22, none of them, for most of us, I think. It only happens with a driver after that one, so really there is no need to test it any other way but the exact same way you were doing with the stable driver. If you do that it wouldn't be the exact same conditions.

I was also getting the display going to sleep and not waking up and I think both go hand in hand with each other since none of this occurs unless it's a driver after 314.22.

I really think that they're getting close to solving this, though because it takes a while to happen, sometimes with these test drivers. I don't think this has fixed the problem completely for anyone that uses Firefox and has one of these fermi cards.

And yeah I think another driver will be released eventually to test with another hopeful fix

Nvidia fixed it for my card so they know now where the problem is in their driver.

i have to test the "display going to sleep with both setting on never" with the latest WHQL 331.65 if the problem is also in that driver.

Why both on never? If you do that the display won't go to sleep. I have display set to 30 minutes now and the computer set to never.

Oh man, you're using Windows 8.1. I don't know why it took so long for me to understand that. Things seem to be a little better on there, but your display sleeping with those settings selected is strange

Yes, i will test this tomorrow 1 more time and see how long its takes before the display is going into sleep.

Maybe this problem is just in this test driver.

I've had that happen before too. I thought it was just another annoying bug in newer versions of Windows.

I just had a minor freeze up while using the 331.58 test driver, where everything starts running slow but bounces back.

This is apparently a Windows 8.1 bug in the power plan. If you modify one of the existing power plans, say the high performance plan, the display sleep settings don't hold. If you create a Custom Power Plan, it will. I had the same issue.

One reason Nvidia can't solve this problem after half a year is that they're still asking for crash dumps for a system freeze issue, lol.

Its easy to fix just take driver 314.22 and compare it to the driver that came after it.

or take driver 314.22 and programme everthing over againg between the 314.22 and the next one.

That seems like a great idea to me. But instead Nvidia spends several months asking for crash dumps that don't exist.. It's as if nobody from their development team reads user feedback on this and other forums.

I dont know what they do but they can also give al the 460/560 owners a free GTX 760 this also fix the freeze problem.

Ok, major desktop freeze up/oddities. Had to restart the system. Again, this is with the 331.58 test driver.

I'm just really happy NVIDIA have noticed the issue and are trying to fix it.

    Soon. (Blizzard TM.)

    Otherwise known as
Were boned, better get a new card, since the 400/500 series seems to be designed to fail at this point, to make sure people upgrade even if they dont need any more power right here right now, or are waiting for the next gen cards.

Oh vey, better obey the goyim

How i already stated in Nvidia forums, i have a 560 non-ti reference clocks, and since when i update from 314.07 to 320.18 first time, after 10 minutes of installed the 320.18 and navigating in firefox my screen frozen and dont turn back, so i forced restart in pc button.

I reverted back and all fine.

Since bf4 beta i was trying new drivers in windows 8 x64 Pro because of the game problem with old ones, and trying the 327.23, 331.40 later 331.58 and 331.58 test modified, all of them caused same issue for me , when open Battlelog in internet explorer after few seconds screen freezed and after about 10-15 seconds computer restart by yourself.

All that events registered a Bsod and all Bsod dmp files was saved in the windows\minidump folder. I already send all of them to nvidia email in the time.

One time the screen frozed and computer restart with the 331.58 driver i was installing my software mouse, but have browser minimized, so i dont know for that one who caused the problem.

And to not forget, i checked "use software instead of GPU" in internet explorer for all drivers tests and same thing happened for all.

One last thing, i see one guy in first page saying about cpu/nb/ram voltage maybe being causing conflict with new drivers. I dont understand about it, but in the last 2 Bsod events , i see Windows Event Logs, and there with the system crash error registered a error accusing Amd Northbridge too in same time.

So i dont know if it can be related how the guy say something about it, since i use cpu/nb/ram all overclocked but with 314.22 dont cause problems.
