I have severe FPS drops playing Company of Heroes 2 with these drivers. No issues, no crashes just a very drastic drop of FPS running my GTX 680

Basically where I was getting close to 100 FPS now I get like in between 46 to 55 FPS. It's so drastic I thought the Nvidia profile changed but everything it's at same settings as before with the 326.80 drivers.

I think that you better try the 327.31. All my problems gone away. No freeze with firefox etc... :)

Something tells me we will probably get a beta within the next 48 hours due to Battlefield 4 beta just being preloaded. I'm now out of hospital so ManuelG, now is your time to shine with a bug free driver :)

A little OT, but does anyone know anything on how nVidia will handle Mantle ?

not only that, but the screen saver also doesn't kick in with these drivers.

Probably with NVAPI they might make good changes of it depends on how mantle successed, i have a strong feeling that nvidia might actually do something interesting with their NVAPI that might involve CUDA as well, and they might announce that in october or Nov.

For those of you owning GTX 6xx or 7xx series cards, YES, this driver works perfectly!!

However, for those of us poor bastards still owning GTX 5xx series card such as my GTX 560 Ti card, the last 3 WHQL drivers from nVidia ( the whole 32x.xx series to be honest ) causes freezes and BSOD and shutdowns, this is well documented not only in this thread, the 326.80 Beta Driver thread here that I have been commenting on lately, but also the nVidia forums ( driver section ) that I linked to in my posts...

Just FYI and warning for all GTX 5xx series card owners, ONLY USE THE MARCH 2013 314.22 WHQL DRIVER!! It works perfectly and is very stable, no more crashes...

This also applies to GTX 400 series owners, like myself. 314.22 is the only choice, specially if you're running Windows 8.1.

Thank you for your post! I am running W7 64, but nice to hear from you...

Confirms that latest nvidia drivers are BROKEN for older GTX 4xx/5xx series now, on both Win7 and Win8!!! <rolls eyes at nvidia driver team>

314.22 for GTX 4xx/5xx till nVdia fixes this ****!!

I'm not getting any "broken" issues at all.
Running 327.23 on 4xx cards on Windows 8.

You are VERY lucky then!! how long have you had this driver installed if you don't mind me asking? If less than a week, then inconclusive....if more than a week, then you are very lucky indeed! Cheers and thanks for replying to this thread...

    etc...

Listen, I am not a shill for AMD , I have owned both manufacturer's cards in the past, but I do get my back up when they ( nVidia in this case ) releases a "WHQL certified driver" for my particular video card ( both automatically and manually! ) that causes my system to BSOD and shutdown while simply idling on the W7 desktop with nothing open!! FFS!!!! This happens with the nvidia "32x.xx" series of their latest WHQL drivers ( WHQL as well as BETA versions here! ) on both GTX 4xx and 5xx series cards ( not newer 6xx or 7xx cards obviously which is what they tested with ) in both W7 and W8!! You are a rare exception indeed...

nVidia driver version 314.22 works perfectly with my GTX 560 Ti card ( as well GTX 4xx series cards ) , as proved by all the links above...

nVidia "dropped the ball here" and needs to test their latest drivers with the older GTX 5xx/4xx series before releasing them as "WHQL Certified" as they have been, stupid lazy bungholes ( for NOT testing their latest drivers with older GTX 4xx/5xx series cards, only latest GTX 6xx/7xx series cards, obviously!! )

Had it since release as every other new driver, I usually update to the latest every time. There was one 31x.xx driver that did make me lock up at one stage but I can't remember which one that was now, I had an aggressive overclock I had to back down a little. I can run EVGA OC Scanner for over an hour now without errors (longer if need be).

I don't use Firefox, I gave up on BF3 a long time ago due to delayed deaths, an overdone bullet drop and vehicle spawn kills. Maybe that's why I don't experience these problems, either way I don't deny that there's an issue with some users but there are others that aren't having problems. Thought I should note my experience with the current drivers in the thread.

Understood, not everyone is having problems with older nVidia cards and latest drivers, but there are sure a LOT of us experiencing issues as my links prove. Thank you for your honest reply, cheers!

are these currently the best drivers to install for a laptop geforce GTX 760M (in combination with Intel HD 4600)?

    (best = 1. reliability 2. speed)

Gonna second the information given here is also valid for me. I use a 560Ti, and had loads of random BSOD's, hangs and general instability with ANYTHING newer than 314.22

    Me neither..

I knew GF104/114 will be troublesome the moment I first saw all those 460gtx issues back in 260.xx days,.. But to be such a pain over and over again I would get rid of that pos and never touch similar gpu ever again.

I confirm using GTX 460 SE 1Gb here and anything past 314.22 freezes my computer to death.

****ing Nvidia, this xmas one R9 will be coming to my home.

You folks that are getting hanging, freezing, etc., I am curious if this new problem I am having is what you are talking about. I am not saying this is because of the drivers, but I am trying to figure this one out.

Scenario: I just booted up maybe 4 minutes ago, loaded a web page or two, then opened "My Computer" to right click on one of my two hard drives to check the properties, capacity, etc. and nothing...the right click menu won't even come up. Explorer just stops responding and I have to kill it or it stays frozen forever. Other things work as normal while this "Computer" window is frozen. Once this starts happening, it will not stop, restart explorer, right click a drive, same thing. Rebooting may or may not cause it to return to normal...for a while.

I would never think a video card driver would cause this, but with all the folks saying they have freezing and lockup issues with these drivers, I am curious. I would have thought this was from a bad drive or something, but the drives are fine, and it's a fresh, clean install of Windows, etc. etc.

    Windows 7 x64
    GTX 460 / 327.23 driver.
