No need to be a smartass friend. That's quite un-needed.

Anti-virus these days are so efficient there is no reason to not have one. I don't care how safe people claim they are.

I have common sense and still run one with no issues as a fail safe. There is absolutely nothing wrong with running one just as much as there isn't in your case.

This is nice, but I'd rather have active protection.

Let's not derail this thread anymore guys.

I had the same problem with my 740M and I had to modify the inf file to install. Just make sure if you are on Windows 8, 8.1 64 bit, to disable driver enforcement to install the driver. It has been working perfectly for me so far. I originally had a problem with Windows 8.1 with playing a video in the video app, that the screen would flicker on and off, but this was fixed when I installed the Nvidia driver before the Intel one.

Have you tried updating Total War Rome. It fixes a lot of issues among other things slowdowns.

He said, "current beta patch". Meaning, patch2beta. patch1.5beta issnt beta anymore and a regular update/patch, so no opt in anymore in that.

And its still bad at some points, not as bad as the beginning tho.

Yeh its all updated with the current beta patch, but SLI isn't working my second card is at 0% usage when playing and my main card is only at 70%, runs pretty badly, patches have helped but still feels like im playing on a really low spec pc lol

Also tried messing with the profile in nvidiaInspector, but haven't had much luck in improving my gameplay, changing SLI rendering mode to SFR makes my second activate, but both cards never go past 40-50% usage, even tho the game play is laggy as hell.

try and see if you only can switch cards to activate.

    preferences.script.txt \%appdata%\The Creative Assembly\Rome2
    gfx_gpu_select 0; # gfx_gpu <int>, Select gpu on a multi-gpu config, 0 = default, 1 = first gpu, 2 = second gpu #

Edit: Still running pretty badly. usage no matter the changes to the preferences. Tried each setting, but still cant seem to get a decent GPU usage. or SLI to work correctly, only game this happens too.
