I got it changed the other day.
so does CIV V not work with these?
good work HonoredShadow especially keeping a cool head and don't brag on excellent
also to you PhazeDelta1 i hope more will confirm it fixes the issues.
Yes I played Clear Sky recently (with the complete mod) and i don't have the shadow problem you mention. I am currently using the 301.42 drivers.
But the shadows in clear sky are very difficult to set correctly. Have you tried to check the value of ten r2_sun_near and r2_sun_near_border in your user.ltx ? Mine are set to 40 and 1.
you just admitted you pirated a game.....
you just admitted you have nothing to contribute to this thread.
LOL! Thanks man.
can you confirm reverting back to old Physx fixes the DX11 Civ5 crash ?
That's indeed very weird since BF3 uses Havoc and not PhysX.
Then it must be some issue between CUDA 5 with the Physx Controll Panel selection and maybe DX11 Compute which might cause DX11 to crash actually i don't know why it happens but if it fixes it as said the Engineers will find out in no time what's going on .
Sure it could be that they (Physx Team) experiment with Havoc acceleration why ever though not very thinkable of until Nvidia plans to acquire it and Intel surely wont sell, though maybe some kind of Strategic partnership on the Horizon
Or maybe Dice coded the acceleration Layer into Havoc based on CUDA
just played some BF3 (double XP premium weekend :dave: ) and after a while had massive texture corruption / artifacts. temp was normal. never got this before.
rolled back to 301.42 (literally - via device manager), and all is fixed, including 1FPS loading issue in several games.
I might try a fresh install of latest beta one more time, give it another chance or at least make sure installing driver on top of another (without clean install) had nothing to do with all this mess.
Erm... I'm on 301.42. Still getting flickering on background mountains in Firestorm and some flicker on background hills in Caspian Border. No flickering bushes though like the beta driver. Just changed the SLI bridge from the back connector to the one nearer to the middle of the gfx cards and all flicker has gone!
Well apart from the slight flicker caused by overlapping and glitching of the game engine that is but that's Dice's fault and hope it get's fixed!
Tempted to driver this beta again now...
driver sweeper / clean install did not solve my issues, back to official for good.
also, I noticed this beta extracts to "win8" folder. is this a unified win7/win8 tryout or what?
Yup, that was how I got you.
Didn't know that you were referring to another issue.
First drivers I've had a problem with in awhile, didn't have quite a bit of the issues that others reported but the ones I did observe:
1. Random crashing in WoW. Complete CTD, no error. Nothing.
2. Stuttering in Super Street Fighter IV menus. Always was a massive stutter on the character select especially.
Rolled back the drivers and everything seems dandy again.
The PhysX "fix" did nothing for me, but I think I found the real culprit for my system:
Maximum pre-rendered frames. I can reproduce this with 100% accuracy so far, pre-rendered frames to 1 causes videos in DX11 games (Deus Ex, Max Payne, Secret World) to stutter. Once I switch it to app-controlled, the games run normally.
I tested with both versions of PhysX, same results.
EDIT: Gah, this apparently only works reproducible with Max Payne, Deus Ex still stutters during the intro.
I'm getting crashes on the animated Leaderheads on Civ V...but I don't know if its the drivers causing it, it used to do it once in a great while. The performance gains across the board with these however are the royal PITA these crashes are.
stutter and crash and 1 fps slowdown are different things though i wonder how it fixed the issue for PhazeDelta1 and if everyone know suffers from this or specific combinations it gets very confusing if 1 reports yes its fixed and in the end it didn't fixed anything for all others.
Guess i will try the Driver myself have all the Data i need from the WHQL evaluation.
I mean slowly the Question for me rather becomes who can you trust with his results
Damn it. The flicker came back in BF3... No idea then.
Did reverting back to older Physx fixed the Deus EX HR DX11 Slowdown issue or did you just imagined it also
