What performance would you lose?
Your cpu is easily powerful enough.
Well if anyone is interested i rolled back to the previous 295.73 drivers and have had no problems for a couple days now, so looks like this is one way to get rid of the problem.
So its definitly a drvier bug in combination with a GTX560?
I wonder why, because GTX570 dont has this problem and they are all nearly the same chips, GF114 and GF110 or?
Or is there maybe a major difference between GF110 and GF114 ?
Well I disabled the hardware acceleration and while the flicker did go away, quality also was much worse watching videos in fullscreen; so I guess that's not a good solution to the problem. Back to 290.53...
Just got a nondescript 0x0000001E BSOD. Since graphics drivers are the only parts of my system that change much at all and it's the first time I got that error, I'm assuming they're to blame. Going back to 285.62 until the 300 series is ready.
Did a clean install to rule out any install issues. Yesterday booted pc to a screen of pink pokadots. The driver has crashed and recovered message popped up and the pink pokadots where gone.
WTH is nVidia doing lately? I've seen better ATI drivers.
*wrong thread edit.
on my system in the left had numerous if bsods and freezes in games.
on the bsod eventlog it said bugcheck 0x0000003b, which i did a bit research and turns out it was the video drivers. so back to 275's
After a nearly 4½ months hiatus my PC is alive again. First thing I did was updating from Forceware 280,26 to 296,10 and so far no issue. I even gained some extra FPS in 3Dmark 11.
Processor clock 3178 MHz VS Processor clock 3477 MHz
Version: 1.0.2 VS Version: 1.0.3
Your test fail.
I dont understand, I have a 2500k @4.3Ghz and 2x gtx570 in SLI @850+2050 stock voltage and get 10.750 in 3Dmark 11 (with stock clocks I get 9.350 points). You only get 12.250 with your 3x Gtx580´s in SLI ?! That score is a bit low for your rig, dont you think?
That's because the SystemInfo diagnostic tool checks what speed the CPU runs at upon entering the program.
I have Turbo Boost enabled as pr standard with such a CPU. No overclocking.
Yea it's because I have the "combined score bug". Test 6 can't properly recognize the number of GPU cores used...no solution.
