Yeah that's what I do but I find driversweeper is easier to use and PhysX only if the installed version is lower. There are other registry entries that driversweeper doesn't pick up but it doesn't seem to affect new drivers.

If you did a a clean install of windows and your still missing a core then that core is kaput. Start looking for a new card or try to RMA it.

Tried sweeper both ways, result is the same.
Neither does it harm to analyze with Driver Sweeper after the initial cleanup.
There are no permission problems either when I run it in normal mode, the cleanup works as well as in safe mode (matter of tweaking).

Nopes, with admin mode it doesn't matter, it doesn't harm doing it either.
The WDM gets messed with by Driver Sweeper, seen it before and now again, hence why there is an exclamation mark, Driver Sweeper shouldn't even touch the registry entries for the WDM.

The annoying part is thou, that I can only reproduce this with 191.00 and 190.89
All other 190 sets up to 190.62 install fine, and that even without any use of Driver Sweeper!

    Conflict with 780i + SLI + W7 and these 2 drivers?

The high CPU load is caused via windows services, so there is some conflict there with these 2 sets.

    EDIT: Tried something different.
The CPU load is caused by the WDM 1.1, so I tried to let Windows decide which driver to use.
The OS picks 186.81 which is a driver that the W7 Pro is shipped with.
CPU Load at idle was 0% like it should be with this driver.
Next I installed 191.00 but the installation did not register Nvidia's control panel.
So I reverted everything and did the thing you normally don't do.
I installed 191.00 on top of 186.91 with the result that it works now.
Checked driver file versions and found that everything got updated.

I cant seem to get these to work, the resolution is set at 1920x1200 which is corre3ct but on the screen it looks very wrong! I had to revert to an older driver. GTX 295 is my gpu.

Same thing happen to me. What you need to do is go to the Nvidia control panel-> adjust desktop size position then click use my display's built in scaling hit apply.

Can't install them. Downloaded WHQL ones from nVidia site. But, when I start to install after 10 seconds SETUP finishes and says: "System has not been modified, install later" something like that. I have downloaded modified INF. and ran Driver sweeper, uninstalled physx and display, rebooted, but same thing again. :3eyes:

Real men don't do backups, real IT pros do.

So to save you the hassle doing a full reinstall, you could use this free program.

Anyone else have a nvidia control panel issue? For the past three driver versions I can't get the control panel to come back. I tried using driver sweeper too. This is on win7 x64.

If I try running the control panel installer itself, it gives me a error when installing. Physx does this too.

    Thanks for any insight. :)

I cannot install then. I get the "Couldn't find drivers compatible with your system" error, or whatever it was.

I had that issue too, only way I got it working was by installing the 191.00 on top of 186.91
And didn't even run into any sort of problems doing it that way, all driver files got installed just fine.

Ran a few games after installation, which all looked ok.
No noticeable difference, fps was around the same too.
