As a Windows Insider I had some issues with YouTube for months, I posted about the fix somewhere else before, but here:

Use nVidia Profile Inspector, wait for it to load, scroll down to section 5 (common), and find CUDA - Force P2 State and turn it OFF.

I do this after every time I update the videocard drivers now. Noticed after turning off this power-saving option that's enabled by default and can not be changed from nVidia Control Panel, that it fixed all my YouTube unresponsiveness issues.

For those of you with unresponsiveness issues, let me know if it helps.

My biggest problem was after watching one or two 4K videos, comments and everything on YouTube started feeling sluggish & unresponsive, had to exit the browser and open it again to fix YouTube sluggishness (both with Chrome & Edge). Now I can use YouTube for extended periods without such issues happening.

Gladly but how do I do that?

No, got a G-sync display. Could try G-sync on/off and see if it helps.

You're right but I did notice that when scrolling up from the comments to the video frame itself, stuttering happens (which sounds like CYP3ORG's problem). Not had that issue before, that's for sure.

Thanks, removing nvtopps doesn't seem to break anything. Performance overlay from new GFE beta works fine too.
I also thought that maybe oawrapper and nvshim going bananas was related to nvtopps but alas, they still get stuck in the restart loop writing to disk and hog CPU resources after opening performance overlay.
Gonna stick with 456 removed nvtopps and stable GFE for now, I'm not interested in perfoverlay in its current state anyway.

This is exactly the same problem I'm experiencing. Using drivers prior to 456.38 release do not trigger this. I've never experienced such an issue before though...

ok this is clearer, so you scroll down so the maximised video is off screen.

This opens the little mini player in the corner right?

I think its linked to the issue so many Freesync compatible displays are experiencing @Netherwind which would explain why my standard refresh TV wouldn't experience it.

Not exactly, let me try to explain:

I click on any video just like usual so that it opens normally. Then I scroll down so that the video frame disappears and the comments start showing. Then I simply scroll back up again so the video frame starts showing and keep scrolling all the way back up. So from the point that the video frame is starting to show at the top of the screen the scrolling of the window stutters. If I scroll back down again it's smooth as always but when I scroll back up like described it stutters once more. I've got an Acer X34A @ 95Hz if it helps.

I thought the mini player only appeared if you click "i", not automatically.

It does not open automatically, at least to my knowledge... Anyway, this is the best description of this issue! :)

    Known Regressions:
Display blanking on G/Freesync 144hz displays (144hz mode broken or missing)
Gsync Compatible list regression causing previously certified displays to become uncertified
HAGS fps drop to 10 in Divinity
Forza Motorsport 7 crash (Workaround available)

    Likely not nvidia issues:
LG C9 TV's not exposing hdmi 2.1 capability correctly

Possibly nvidia + other software issues
RDR2 hangs or closes at random

Anybody know where in the GeForce UI the new "GPU Autotuning" feature is located? I can't seem to find it -- I rewatched their Nvidia Reflex video where they show it in the overlay, but that "performance" tab doesn't show up for me and I've just updated to the new driver (2080 Super) -- perhaps it requires one to enable experimental geforce settings or some such? Thanks,

Do you use 144hz or gsync?

Did you try the fix I posted above for YouTube stuttering & smoothness issues, and see if that helps in your case? Top of page 13 in this thread.

Also let me know if it helps.

Still can't record in HDR on a 1080 even though it says you can.
I could a year ago, then the just took the ability away.
If I try and capture a screenshot or video with HDR on, I get "Turn off HDR to" blah blah blah.

@Astyanax thanks! I may hold off on trying out the auto tuning gpu feature until it’s no longer “experimental” lol
