I had massive crashing with Fallout 3 trying to change from a subway to an above ground level. Tired it 10 or so times, went back to the 180.48, though I will say I had about a 10 fps gain with the new ones. I hope they get it worked out.

Since installing this driver I've had numerous crashes and hard-locks (more so than 181.00). Doing more testing/gaming, but, it's likely this driver is unstable.

well Im not sure how this has happened...

but I am running a Toshiba Satallite X205-S7483 running windows XP and have been using modified video drivers ever since I installed XP(Toshiba only offers Vista drivers for this model). I am using a modified INF file that I got from laptopvideo2go.com I've tried it both with their copy of the driver as well as the copy available here....same error with both.

    I get this:

Anyone else have any experience with Fallout 3 and these drivers? Or anything based on the Source engine? (L4D, TF2)

Well, I did some L4D testing just now and I gotta say, Ambient Occlusion makes it even darker even though no detail is lost. I recommend setting it to Low.

Gonna try Fallout 3 for an hour or so, I'll report back.

The reason AO in L4D causes the screen to be darker is, that the sky/surroundings, from which the AO map is created/calculated, is pretty dark. I design a lot in Cinema4D for my education, and when I created scenes with AO, they were dark too because of the darker surroundings.

i hope not, actually using win7, but i think ill keep XP a lil more (altho win7 seems great), this driver its like unfinished (no profiles drop box etc...) so i guess its just an early "beta" for check how ambient occlusion works in real pc
