Hello fellow South African Rugby supporter!

Cusa is nvidia's physics processing engine that is build into the 8800 and above cards, a few months back there was a few demo's using Cuda, like the waterfall caves demo and the smoke in a box demo.

Since Nvidia purchased PhysX they have changed the code to enable Cuda to emulate PhysX support (that is how I understand it at least).

    Hope that answers your question.

The 177.26 is leaked drivers, who leaked them is unknown :nerd: but they're from NVIDIA just like any other beta driver, and I think we will have an official 177.xx beta version on nvidia.com soon.

As for the 175.80 WHQL, I don't know, may be never.

I thought these were from Asus seeing I get a Asus start screen when I install these drivers.

The drivers were originally hosted on the Asus ftp site, but they are gone now.

Typical of Asus, they do that sort of thing all the time.

Np, good to hear the ut2004 issues are finaly resolved.

Also if links on first page aren't working you can get most of the drivers with modded infs included on various pages on this thread including the xp 32-bit with modded inf here.

Actually CUDA has nothing to do with NVIDIA's physics processing engine which is PhysX. Quantum Physics Engine is just a marketing gimmick which basically means that new DX10 cards have better programmability. CUDA is C language (C++ will be added in the future) development environment for GPU's. Now I'm not so sure what are the limitations but basically is nice step towards much more programmable GPU's. That means there will be more general purpose "GPU accelerated applications" (applications for GPU might be better term) such as video and audio encoders that really benefit from massive parallel computing and for those it is natural approach.

CUDA is not used in waterfall demo, it uses geometry shaders for geometry and water particle calculations. NVIDIA's Box of Smoke demo doesn't use CUDA either. Just the fact that it runs on DX9 hardware eliminates that, it actually uses Cg.

Summarize: CUDA has nothing to do with PhysX. It's just a way for programming GPU.

Also CUDA can run on all 8 Series video cards, not just 8800 and up.

Downloading now, results later. I am saving these files onto my external HD, no telling if the links will disappear again.
