i have downloaded and installed the new Beta 174.74 and i'll go straight to the point.. GREAT DRIVERS!

tried lots of games ranging such as Crysis, Fear, Boiling Point, COD4 and more, the previous drivers i have been using for many months was the 169.21 whql (my favorite set).
anyway in general i have gained anything from 3 to 5 fps

    1. WiC, F.e.a.r, Hitman = 5fps
    2. HalfLife 2 and source games, S.t.a.l.k.e.r = 4fps
    3. Crysis, Cod4, Jericho, Call of Juarez, Boiling Point= 3fps
    4. Quake4 and Doom3 = 2fps
    5. 3Dmark06 = 3 loops resulted in a score of 10731
the previous drivers 169.21 score was 10487) so an increase of around 200+ points which is healthy.

the only exception being Splinter Cell where i lost 2 fps but it doesn't matter.

IQ was exactly the same as the previous 169.21 drivers no more no less which is fine by me, CP options work fine so no bugs there for me, card temperature was just the same as the previous set no funny stuff there again which is good.

final word : KEEPERS! ;) it seems there's still life in the old beast (8800GTS 640mb) best drivers ever.

    edit : all tests DX9 on WinXP SP2 32bit.

174.70 = Crysis @ 1920x1200 using a custom config consisting of a mix of high and very high in Vista DX10 I averaged 24.5 fps.

    174.74 = Same Crysis settings I now average 27.70.

Since the 169.xx drivers I've averaged 24.5 (+ or - ½ frame). This is the biggest Crysis boost I have personally seen.

ok so i'm not the only one then seeing at least around 3fps increase in Crysis, good to know :)
if there's one thing i'd like to say is that i'm glad nVidia is still showing good support for the older 8800gtx/gts cards, it wasn't that way with previous generations of cards.

There certainly is life left in them, my last 3D run gave me over 11500

edit; link removed, new card installed.

    Try overclocking your card.

sorry i posted wrong 3dmark06 scores of the old cpu, new score 11720 and old 169.21 drivers was 11487.

keep in mind yall got a GPU core advantage, mine is 512mhz default and yours is 600+ not that i care about 3dmark06 scores but it's fine for comparison, sorry i do not like to o/c my 3dcard default it's where it'll stay till the next upgrade, have no issues and games performance is good.
also my DDR2 memory are running 800mhz stock timings which could probably lower scores a bit.

if it ain't broke don't fix it haha :D

You could bump it just for benchmarking and then return it to stock.
My video OC gives me + 1800 point's.

How's driving sims(or Flight sims, FSX/IL1946 etc) with these?

I ask this from XP/32 users.

-And are there separate clocks for 2d/3d now?

Using these in 32 bit xp right now. I love them, very good IQ and the profiles are working correctly for me. Messed around with the video enhancements.... I likey! kinda wish i'd had them for a while.

I seem to have some games missing from the "show programs found on this computer"

Settlers 6 and Empire at war - forces of corruption

    Anyone else had issues?

Wow, so it is nVidia's fault after all. Well, thank god they have this sorted out now so they can fix the damn drivers.

    Can you link the source?

Hint: Hide inactive icons (uncheck) click Apply. Obviously that's TOO simple for you!

And my taskbar is UP not DOWN btw!

The 174.70 drivers crashed on me in Dawn of War, so I hope these fixed the problem.

    BTW:
Anyone know if the Oblivion + AA problem is fixed with these?
