    Neat. Ye, I'm also surprised at the size of the driver, but looking at the extract .. The driver itself without bloat, is 424MB.

    Otherwise it all seems in order;

    The usual exe is about 350MB.
    When you extract that you get about 1.2GB.
    After deleting the garbage it's 441MB.
    After 7ziping it properly it's about 330MB.

    That is just poorly zipped from someone who doesn't know how to compress files properly.
    It also downloaded pretty slowly. I was only getting 3 - 5.5MB/s

    So is this WHQL, a Hotfix or something else?

    It shocks me that you guys are so O.K with downloading and installing an unknown driver from an unofficial source (an Italian forum?) o_O

    The whole lot of you should be backhanded for being so naïve :p

    Who said anything about installing it.. There are ways to inspect a zip file safely y'know.

    Yea I'm not comfortable with it but I'm experienced enough to handle anything thrown at me.
    @Krzyslaw you should have linked your source. It's borderline stupid not to. If you don't want to, give some explanation as to why. This is basic communication here. It doesn't matter what your first language is.

    My first impression of the driver is it's legit. I checked a lot of the files out and dug around in it. I guess it's 316.76 WHQL Win 10 x64 leaked ahead of time as OP says.

    Likely a pre-release leak for the next WHQL.

    This is what you call margin of error. The only times you'll see increases are on the first few drivers on a new series or when they make a major change like they did around 334 or something.
    Any changes besides this are a product of your system and other variables influencing the score, not the driver.

    This is just my intuition, but I think this is a Hotfix driver, possibly related to 20-series;

    Here is my guess; This is a driver Nvidia sendt out to troubleshoot the BSOD related to refresh rate on monitors with the new 20-series. And this driver got leaked.

    EDIT; Oh, I should totally have checked the video description.

    Apparently, it's also available to download for latest Windows Insiders.

    And find what? Viruses?
    I doubt many users can find malicious code in hundreds of pages of disassembler.

    Not gonna dispute any of that. I was just thinking along the lines of extracting & scanning it in VirtualBox. That's all.

    Scanners search for patterns. Bad guys could just inject code (for example for remote access) with pattern unknown to scanners. And since they would have many time to work with files at their rigs, the attack could be both simple and non trivial. And then users would run the code in the kernel with privileges of NV drivers/services.
