NVIDIA Custom RTX 3090 Ti Graphics Cards Spotted at 3650 USD in Europe

Half of you people literally are the problem. "my card paid for itself" (etc). It makes me sick. Short of never coming here at all, time to ignore all of these miners who gleefully take part in destroying everything because "free" money. I don't know how we got here but I'm burying my head in the sand.

 

Fun fact for you, if you use the 3090 for mining, your electric bill in the winter probably won't change much because the 300w you're using to mine will be converted to heat.

 

Their calculator is quite wrong, because a 3090 will take more current than their calculated 285W.
Official TDP of NVidia is 350W+ and some OC-models will easily go to 400W when fully stressed.
And they calculated only the GPU, modern gaming rigs will also charge additional 100-150W.
When you compensate that in the calcuator and raise real energy costs by around +40% like now, you will be near 0 earnings per day.

 

Nope, wrong. BTC mining does not use the full TDP of the card. Any decent miner/mining program will heavily downclock your card. Additionally, even if electricity cost 5x more, and even at the very low current BTC levels (38k vs the 55-60k it was previously) I would still be making approximately 700 dollars per year, MSRP of the card I purchased. But I will tell you from experience (and I'm submitting my taxes with this info, so I'm not making it up) that last year I made 3800 dollars, and all of my electricity bills combined for my whole house for the year come out to 2100. So, the best case you can make, is that I only made 1700 dollars off my mining which I only did for about 7 months or so. Which is still extremely worthwhile.
