this solution didnt work for me either. no control panel.
I am indeed running raid array on 15.25 drivers, and I always felt this is happening due to a driver conflict.

Are you talking about nforce drivers or geforce?

I had problem installing control pannel too (for 190.15), except unlike most people I saw complaining about that, I am using XP32
I thought this was because using Driver Sweeper I removed not only Display drivers but also Chipset drivers (installation without Driver Sweeper didn't work at all)
so I just reinstalled using MSI driver update and then installed 190.15 over that one again - I now have control pannel except nvcplsetupeng.exe still won't work and RivaTuner shows I have nview.dll, nshell.dll and nvwdmcpl.dll at version 110.48
I wonder if that's how it should work or just complete driver version mismatch

I haven't tried this fix in the first post. mainly because it is not really a major issue for me. I just wanted to add that since WHQL 186.18 (and the one before that) I have noticed the drivers taking an age to install. Also when Windows restarts after install, it doesn't automatically detect that I have a "Sli Capable Setup" like it used to. Everything appears to work as normal though, NVCP is there and SLI works. Just thought you would like the info

Nvidia Control Panel does not install Driver install takes a long time Read This

Until now,I have never had a problem with it, but whether I did or not, the question that remains is how I would connect to the internet without it. On a fresh install of the OS, there is a 1394 connection automatically created by the OS, but I cant access the internet until I install the NAM driver, which creats a working LAN connection.

If you never use it, does that mean that you never use a MB with Nvidia chipsets?

I always uncompress the files and remove the PhysX driver before installing and I get this no Control Panel BS with every 185 and above version.

I do exactly as described in this post and solve my Control Panel problem.

I know it's a bit strage that driver setup must be run in "Safe Mode" coz MSI actualy don't working in SM, but it's only if you run NvCplSetupEng.exe by itself. If you start Setup.exe everything will be fine.

PS: I extracted all installation files from nvidia package and remove PhysX_9.09.0428_SystemSoftware.exe just in case.

digital demon, are you sure to remove all nvidia display drivers? Windows restore an old driver version if you remove current.
I have rebooting my system 6 times to remove all driver version, so my Display Adapter shows as Standart VGA.

Installation works fine with the physx installer left in the kit for me. Anything else that might be running and preventing the instalation?

Honestly i cant think of anything...
Since this also happens on a clean install then i suppose we can rule out older driver remains,3rd party programs etc.

Maybe(just maybe) some system specific setting like system locale?.I`ve seen tens and tens of people with different OS-s and cards with this problem so obviously the issue isnt limited to specific OS or card model.

Atleast some word from nvidia would be nice.Hey i can admit when im wrong if pointed so by nvidia, so they better tell us what on earth we are doing wrong?
