99% of time you tweak global and app profiles - here goes Profile Inspector.

    https://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us
    - there is option Windows Driver Type

I really dislike Windows Store and had big problems with it in the past, but I am using DCH drivers slimmed with NVCleanstall without any problems. So, when or if they kill standard drivers just switch to AMD, that will show nasty Nvidia! ;D

I was thinking of something more practical, like take the installed control panel from someone's machine who *does* use the windows store, and copy the relevant files and registry entries from it and package it with a script that installs it to a new machine. Or something like that.

No need. If you download app package you can install it - but only if you have "app installer" (another UWP app).

Troll, if you were smart, you would have never made this post
'Smarter people know you can still get the standard version from the nvidia site.'

As he explicitly mentioned the standard driver in the post you replied to, maybe you would feel more 'fuzzy and warm' if you were less bitter and more literate. You're welcome.

How would be the safer or less hassle than just...you know using the Store? Frankly I do get the anger over using the store. Personally I'd rather Nvidia not need to use the store for the CP and I still use the Standard version. But I don't get why folks will not use the store at all.

I know what Nvidia inspector is but he was talking DCH CP that dont get included in the DCH drivers and not profiles, which why I ask what that had to do with any thing.

Maybe you should worry about if/when it happens. It's out of your control, and unlikely to happen any time soon. I could understand the paranoia if this was gonna render your GPU broken, but it's not.

I'm not sure why you're repeating your trolling idiocy. I already explicitly and precisely pointed out your obvious issues with being unable to read simple English. (clearly the word literate, is above your grade level)

As you probably know, the newer driver installations by default are not including the control panel, which then requires you to get it from the Microsoft Store. Fortunately for smart people who browse Guru3D regularly, there are links to the old-style drivers. However, assuming these disappear one day soon, would anyone know how I could get the NV control panel from another source besides the Microsoft store? Because f*ck that sh1t. Thanks for any help.

    You replied to that with

"Smarter people know you can still get the standard version from the nvidia site."

    You're a real genius.

Perhaps he was suggesting Nvidia Inspector as the REPLACEMENT for using the CP? Though there's too many other functions missing to make that viable IMO though.

Same for me, I will keep using Standard until they are not made anymore, however I don't think they can due to legal reasons. Nivida isn't owned by MS, so they can't force them to stop making Standard GPU drivers. MS UWP is good, don't get me wrong, but I want it as an option to download some apps if I want to, not to have it forced on my system drivers. F**ck that.

standard will eventually get discontinued, but the cpl issue should be sorted out by that point.

That wont sort the issue that I dont want to get CPL for driver threw the MS store. seeing that is mandatory. wonder why people on LTSB get around that seeing that dont even has MS store. can they only use Standard drivers?.

I ether way i dont use MS store and thing that automaticly downloads "app" from the MS i instantly remove said app then said program that cause the download

Yeah, LTSC/LTSB users have to use Standard drivers, so nvidia can't discontinue these drivers, even if an enterprise enviorement is not meant for gaming, they still use nvidia GPU's for graphic interfaces or when they need to design something and on Windows 10 Enterprise, you don't have the store, so you need Standard drivers so I doubt nvidia will discontinue them.

Also I'd dismiss most of the stuff Sora says, he has been wrong before and he will be wrong in the future for sure, doesn't matter if makes a post making an "affirmation". He is just an nvidia forums "moderator"; he doesn't work for the nvidia GPU department at all, not to mention his sad personality and his ever-bitter aura.

Standard driver will always include the c panel and DCH drivers won't. This is just another attempt from MS to force their UWP on everyone and as such, as all forced things, it will perish.

Well folks, that dreadful day has come. Drivers newer than 472.12 no longer have "standard driver" option to download :( :( :( :(
Now what ? DCH drivers are buggy as hell compared to standard drivers, and nVidia has the nerver to say it doesn't...
