Guess those looking to upgrade will have to wait quite a bit longer.

Hmm, restrictions on the board partners to promote crypto mining as well as actively sell to miners. I'm not sure that holds if anybody would take them to court, if it's true. But upping the GPU turnout is definately not a bad idea for the consumers to try and get a GPU if it's available. Of course, ultimately it's a thing for Nvidia to up the production now, have people buy more "old" Pascal cards in preparation for their next lineup so some might spend money twice.

Nv, lets make an announcement that will distract people from our GPP program(board members OK!). More smoke n mirrors to cover up TRIPLE pricing on GPU'S. All limbs gone, but hey I got a new high end GPU Smmmho_O makes sense to me!
I do not subscribe to the theory that mining is slowing down either!!!! Greed fuels this run away train, and lets face it if there is a penny to be made some fool will be opening a farm some where(in a neighborhood near you).

I know that has Nvidia has made such statements but has there been proven action?

This isn't to call Nvidia out in particular but I'm not silly enough to believe that either AMD or Nvidia would restrict their own business which entails monetary loss. Morals and pricing in particularly aren't those company's strong suites, after all.

To me it's just PR garbage to please potential disgruntled fanboys by implying they were of any significant importance. A bone thrown by papa AMD/NVidia. Especially now that it is high peak season of the crypto gold rush I cannot get myself to put any trust in that and GPU prices speak for themselves.

lol, ASIC miner for new crypto....made to be non minable by ASICs. That are going to be profitable once they are out in the market and can ACTUALLY be bought. Sure sure. That happens all the time.
I trust every word coming out of AMD and nVidia, especially when mining is involved.

So it looks like nvidia market strategy is preperation for possible not being able to compete with ASIC products in cryptocurrency market. I'm sure majority of 3rd party sellers GPU sales is cryptocurrency miners and if they all migrate to ASIC products and stop buying GPU's then nvidia fall back peimary consumers are gamers. If all cryptpcurrency miners sales are lost nvidia will have overproduced supply and low demand and GPU prices / profits will fall threw the floor. nvidia delaying releasing new GPU architecture is there market strategy of artificially inflating increased supply and demand of GPU's with gamer consumers post cryptocurrency miners consumers market lost.

Who in their right mind can believe this garbage? There are not enough ASIC's to go around for Bitcoin and Litecoin and the price of one has tripled because of this, but somehow, miraculously, there would be enough if all those GPU mining rigs would become obsolete (in terms of performance)? Another very important thing. 1st of all, Bitmain hasn't made any statement regarding this, not a single clue. 2nd, they are aware that Ethereum will switch to proof-of-stake at some point, and the longevity of an F3 may not be all that appealing to any of the parties involved. Their other miners for Bitcoin and Litecoin have been well-received by the community, but neither of those currencies plans to change their algorithm anytime soon. So... long story short, there is literally 0.1% chance for Bitmain producing ASIC's for ethereum. This is clearly PR by Nvidia, and an obvious apologetic statement to its fans from gaming side. Also note, there has occurred in the text a nice admittance that the next gen wont come sooner than q4 this year. So, yeah, get ready for more pain if you looking to upgrade graphic performance of your rig.

Cryptos seem to be trading sideways, with Bitcoin hovering around $10K (and the GPU-minable altcoins doing the same). Combined with the rise in difficulty and the ROI on a GTX 1080 Ti is becoming increasingly unreasonable - at about $3 a day minus electricity costs, it might take close to a year to see any returns. Many cards are also back in stock, although still at highly inflated prices, but this is a good sign that the craze is starting to slow down. If things stay this way then the GPU market might return to normal in a couple of months.

well, since I cant post a useful link to show G3D members how new miner is going to be made out of their precious GPUs, like the previous one for altcoins was, this is all I am able to post.

edit: the irony is, link gets turned into this: https://www.bitsonline.com/*SCAM-SCAM-SCAM*-g2-gpu-mining-rig-review/

and the scam is right there in the article itself, that there will be a new asic miner for etherium. There is not going to be an ASIC miner for that. Only GPUs can do that.

    edit2:

eth is not the only coin on that algo. There are other less profitable ones. Might become more profitable if/when eth goes pos.

The crook who developed the GPU only mining should be thrown into a prison for 20 years. I'm sure there's some law that would apply.

The electronic world, more specifically the GPU/gaming world, has really gotten pathetic, so incredibly pathetic in such a sad way.

The things you guys say should be done to miners because of your selfish desires to buy a GPU, is just pathetic.

I have heard they should all die, they should be arrested, they should be thrown into prison, they should have lawsuits against them, i mean really, how pathetic are you guys to say these things?

All for what? For people buying and using their hardware for perfectly legal reasons? All because you can't buy stuff for a price you want it, that means others should be killed or be thrown in jail?

wtf is wrong with society when that mindset is considered "normal" and "liked" and gets a ton of likes (looking at the first post on this news article)

You guys need to see mental health professionals, and i'm not kidding, i'm not saying that as an insult, i mean it. You have something seriously, seriously wrong with you to think that your comments are okay.

You know what, nevermind, i'll jump right in!

HOW DARE YOU SCUMS USE THE INTERNET TO TYPE ON A KEYBOARD ON A FORUM YOU ARE LEGALLY ALLOWED TO DO! HOW DARE YOU! YOU DESERVE TO BE THROWN IN PRISON FOR 20 YEARS! YOU ALL DESERVE TO BE SUED AND ARRESTED! BUNCH OF KEYBOARD FORUM TYPING SCUM!

How did i do? Am i accepted into the Kool Kids Klub now?

You should go hangout with the DRAMA QUEENS at HARD FORUMS, has zero to do with kool kids klub has to do with not wanting to pay three times the price for a new high end GPU. 6500 posts, the only hate I see posted is in your posting. GROW THE frack UP!

Uh.... how exactly is buying 1 or 2 gaming GPUs for gaming purposes selfish? Are you suggesting miners aren't being selfish? I don't understand your logic.
I have never encountered anyone who says such a thing. I'm not saying they don't exist, but they're rare. People like that are just angry teenagers who don't even make their own income, but can't convince mommy and daddy to spend $1000+ so they can pwn noobs in PUBG.
That mindset isn't what's liked. What's liked is things are finally coming back to normal, and miners will be forced to get real jobs.

    EDIT
I personally don't have any intention on buying a gaming GPU any time soon, whether this mining craze existed or not. I actually like that the miners are giving hardware manufacturers enough money to really invest in something groundbreaking (hopefully, anyway). However, I do sympathize with people who are trying to build new PCs, and though I don't want miners to drop dead or be imprisoned, I do find most of them to be lazy and a complete waste to human society. They're an even greater waste to finite resources.
