rough chinese translation. ALL of the posts related to kepler being 299$ from chiphell, and speculated performance, were from marketing shills (proven by the owners of the forum) and have been banned. pretty funny stuff :nerd:
if its true, i hope sites puts this on their frontpage as news article. this cant be tollerated cant it ?
Well, if all those rumors are true, I don't see anything bad about it. It's PR, ofc they will fight against AMD..
All of the supposed Kepler rumors came from the same source at chiphell. And was then regurgitated on other sites like fud and DH. These rumors include price, speculated performance, and more. These were all from the same source and started at chiphell. The owners of chiphell discovered said source to be a viral marketer for nvidia, attempting to thwart 7900 sales by spreading internet rumors. They did the same when 5870 was released, remember how they boasted that the 480 would be 2x faster than 5870? Anyway long story short, the source of the Kepler rumors has been found to be illegitimate and a viral marketer for nvidia. Uncovered by the owners of chiphell. Thus, the net effect is we don't know jack about Kepler now, alot of the previous rumors were illegitimate.
I think we have a potential suspect, pmsl:roll: http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=2522974&postcount=151 btw, he's known as nvidia troll at NV forums and I think he was banned from here too
I don't get it. Rumors are supposed to be "RUMORS" so what is the issue here? And where is the so called "proof" that this all started from an nVidia employee? Regardless, this is nothing new for any company, they all do it from time to time. I mean, AMD did the same exact crap with regards to Bulldozer, Intel has done it before (Pentium 4) so it's nothing new. I've taken these rumors about Kepler the same way that I've taken rumors for other things, with a grain of salt.
I've had an account here before, but lost the un/pw. (just reinstalled windows). This news is being reported on several other hardware websites, saw it on H / OCN as well. In any case, I would love to be an AMD shill! Give me some 7970s AMD, anyone have contacts within their viral marketing dept? :nerd:
@ blackened, Going by your original post, it looks like you were the same person that started that thread on [H] as well. Let's just say that leaves me feeling a bit "suspicious" of your intentions.
this story happens everytime they release videocards. AMD is faster, then nvidias next gen is slightly faster, then amd is faster, then nvidia. Rinse and repeat. I am a bit cautious about Kepler because usually, when a company has something very impressive up their sleeve, they don't play dirty and fake PR hype, and performance data. Which nvidia already fakes for next gen videocards. Take intel for example, they know they rock the performance and when they release next gen, just just give you a fact-sheet of their new socket/cpu, then they release the parts and people test to see that they were mindbogglingly fast. Sadly, the more PR there is in any product in any industry, the more is the chance that it sucks.
All I can see is made up BS from you, I asked for evidence so you gave some waffle about a site claiming it is Nvidia, that is not evidence, that to me looks like someone trolling. Proof or gtfo. New account as well just adds to the overall fail of this thread.
Actually, the guy who first pointed him out as an nVidia troll was even banned before him lol. Rollo usually kept a very low profile with that ever present little nVidia disclaimer: NVIDIA Focus Group Member NVIDIA Focus Group Members receive free software and/or hardware from NVIDIA from time to time to facilitate the evaluation of NVIDIA products. However, the opinions expressed are solely those of the Members
