I have Geforce GTX 460 768MB (Don't ask why the 1GB version wasn't bought) and I whould like to make it a "Quadro". Does NiBiTor, or maybe some other gpu BIOS editor, support my card and windows 7? If the answer is "yes" (And if not NiBiTor what's its name?) what Quadro card whould be ekvivalent to my card? Or is it hopeless because no Fermi based Quadro card is 192 bit, an there never will be one?
Sorry I didn't say what is the usage of the computer. The computer is used for video editing (3D's Max, Adobe cs5) and rendering (ofcourse), so I'd really like to have the Quadro driver installed to make the CUDA processors work the way I want them to, because I know the Quadro driver makes better usage of the CUDA cards. Is there any help for me?
just grab an quaddro driver and get the modded INF, install it and voila, you have an quaddro driver installed on ur VGA Card.. is that what u want? cause in the bios theres nothing to change..Nvidia has an unified architekture.. i think Driver will be enough.... i use this one here and im happy... http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=328709&highlight=259.57 greetz Beta
@BetA13 You sad "get the modded INF", I am not sure what did you mean by that. Can you explain, pls? Found out sorry.
@BetA13 One more thing: Are you sure it will work? I konw it will let me install quadro driver, but do you know how will it behave (will it work properly or will there be some possible errors)?
oh boy...thats not important..i even used quadro drivers on my 9800gtx 512 mb.. now i have an gtx460 1gb.. listen..try to find a modded inf for ur windows..because i cant find one for win xp 32bit.. and the one i made im not shure if its right but u could try out.. How to: Download the driver u need.. win xp 32bit http://www.nvidia.com/object/quadro-winxp-x32-259.57-whql-driver.html win xp 64bit http://www.nvidia.com/object/quadro-winxp-x64-259.57-whql-driver.html then use Winrar to extract the setup exe file in an folder...Then just replace the inf with mine that i made...after that just install the driver via setup.exe in the folder.. Make shure u have uninstalled the old driver before doing this..use driver sweeper, etc etc..its all here in the forums.. heres the inf i did..(hope it works..if not i did somezhing wrong with that inf..cause i dont use win xp.. but thats not bad u will find one somewhere if it doesnt work) Link: http://www.mediafire.com/?55jco9ocgmwr55h greetz Beta
But all fermi based quadro cards are 256 bit, and 460 768MB is 192 bit. Is that a problem? Cuz I heard it is. Don't get me wrong, I live in country where the prices are mutch higher and its not easy for me to play with hardware like that.
that i dont know..But u can allways try it, if it doesnt work just reinstall the old driver..Or just dont do it... Greetz Beta-.
Installing a Quadro driver does not have the same effect as flashing to a Quadro BIOS. In fact, you probably won't see any notable difference in performance by just installing a Quadro driver (which is a simple job of just replacing the INF). Compared to Quadro flashing which can provide massive gains in viewport performance (or rather used to; I don't see many people flashing to Quadro BIOSes anymore). That said, general consensus is that there is a subtle difference between Quadro drivers and GeForce drivers, particularly with the image quality of games. But that's not quite relevant to the topic.
@superweapons Ok thx for the info, but I wouldn't like to screw the pgu BIOS so bad that it won't boot anymore, so this gain whit Maxtreme will have to be enough.
