    RIP PC gaming.

It might be that in a couple of years there will be a graphics duopoly once again.
Intel and AMD, instead of nVidia and AMD

I wouldn't be surprised if NV exits the gaming market completely in a few generations, despite being the current market leader.
If they can make 10 times more money from the same resources in another area, why even bother with a failing market that is gaming?

    ---

But I might be wrong, and the AI bubble will implode, and back they go to gaming... it's not like it hasn't happened before.

I wouldn`t be surprised by this but i think Nvidia (still) has big plans regarding gaming, not in the tradicional way of selling GPUs, but regarding cloud gaming and DLSS3, frame generation and AI efforts all seem to slot perfectly on this plan.

But AMD has to do something or they also risk exiting the GPU market...

I agree with all this, to the point that should Nvidia leave gaming, it will backfire when that AI bubble implodes. While I don't see AI development slowing down any time soon, the bubble in question is specific to Nvidia and their ego. You know Nvidia is charging too much when major corporations like MS or Tesla would rather switch to AMD. I suspect it'll be Intel to pull the rug from under Nvidia, since Intel is making quick progress to compete with CUDA. They're not there yet, but in another generation or two I predict Intel will start stealing sales away from Nvidia.

I doubt Nvidia will exit gaming - it's still a massive chunk of their revenue and it doesn't take much to pivot the technology they are developing for datacenter into gaming GPUs. What I do suspect will happen though, is that Nvidia will further segment the AI/Datacenter cards via software/hardware locks. The large chips, GA100, etc are already basically going this way. I think you'll see them start pushing those kinds of chips on more and more cutting edge nodes while the gaming cards lag behind to keep them cheaper. I think they are crossing a threshold where the cost to develop multiple simultaneous architectures concurrently is becoming cheaper than the benefits of doing so. I think you'll see Nvidia's "True" MCM designs going to the datacenter cards first for example - where those workloads benefit far more from that type of configuration.

I also agree about Intel/AMD stealing marketshare. I totally regret not holding onto my Nvidia stock longer but I don't think their reign is sustainable for long. Microsoft/other companies are starting to spread the $ around to AMD/Intel because Nvidia pricing is getting high and they probably don't want all their eggs in a single basket. I think right now investors are dropping a crap ton of money into all these AI startups that are buying GPUs.. but eventually 85-90% of them will go bankrupt and Nvidia's stock will correct.

Next excuse from Nivida on higher GPU prices, "AI sets the prices and we cannot do anything about it". Lol

@Denial There are already rumors that there won't be a gaming equivalent of Hopper, and while that obviously doesn't mean the end of Nvidia making gaming GPUs, there is an implication they're devoting interest in what gives them a much wider profit margin. Gaming GPUs are relatively bad for Nvidia's profits: they require a lot more software developers (especially for game-specific optimizations), they require much higher tolerances for chip quality (so clock speeds can be pushed higher), they don't sell in as high of quantities, they typically demand larger dies (servers can more easily do MCM), and despite all those things, they're expected to sell at a lower price compared to professional equivalents (hence the artificially crippled features). Since those professional parts are selling at such inflated prices, the gaming/desktop prices go up too, reducing demand to a point that Nvidia perhaps might not cater to gamers.
So - while it is unlikely they'll drop out of gaming entirely, it isn't impossible if they keep up their momentum with servers/AI.

Well Nvidia will be able to make $100 GPU use AI and sell the GPU's for 2K USD brilliant mark up ,why did I sell all my Nvidia stonks.
I actual do not care what any of the company's do,as long as PC Games are still made,I am good

AI is currently on the initial upward curve of the garner hype cycle
In this case Nvidia are the single best placed company in the world to ride the wave, but they will be just as aware as everyone else what happens as that cycle progresses.

Equally while every established company wants to ride the waves to grow their company, they all need steady products to keep the money coming in, and that's what gaming is.

We shold worry more if it won't cost $2,499.00...

I mean this bump in worth is just hype, but ultimately, they are where they are simply because they try to get away with as much as they can. Anti consumer and anti competition tactics are seemingly paying off, as well as having a reasonably skillfull CFO / financials team.
