In interest of the guide, it may be best to choose the best C1 flag and the best 45 flag.
just finished testing all of the "45" ones listed in inspector and this one ended up being the fastest. they all worked, but many droped the test scene fps by up to a half.
anyone have working flag for Bioshock 2 ??
its in the list at first Page..
Anyway, here u go
any other flag with less performance hit...
whats wrong with the default Bioshock 2 AA flag?
This. It has one for both DX9 and DX10
Also: Is it just me or does that one wall in the distance look like something straight out of Half Life 2 in Dishonored?
Dishonored and Half-Life 2 have the same art director. (Apologies if that's something you knew already.)
Oh yeah, I knew. No need to apologize, I just find it an interesting parallel between the two;p
Other than that(and both being first person), is there anything else that is similar about them? It doesn't look like it from what else i've seen of it. Which is not a lot.
Silent protagonist, and all "cutscenes" happen in real-time with NPC's speaking directly to you.
I don't know about silent. Takes an Elder Scrolls comparison there, you do choose things to say, you just don't hear them. Which also makes sense considering the publisher.
I'm not really a fan of that kind of approach. But it won't stop me from enjoying the game if I ever buy it
Anything for the crappy F.E.A.R. 2? :3eyes:
SGSSAA is blurry.
Nvidia FXAA is blurry but works.
SSAA dont work and i get low performance.
MSAA the same as SSAA.
SMAA dont work.
if SGSSAA is too blurry, try using Negative LOD. (which should help combat the blur at the cost of slight reduction in AA quality)
4XSGSSAA = -1.0 LOD (Remember to set Negative LOD Bias to "Allow" in inspector for it to work)
You shouldn't be getting Low performance with SSAA/MSAA with a 670....:3eyes:
Just found this thread as I just started using nvidia inspector, thank you very much OP for the list, much appreciated.
Is there anything I can do for bioshock and bioshock 2? I didn't see any AA codes for those games. Still pretty new to all this, lots to learn.
Also been setting LOD BIAS to -1 for my games, not even sure what it does TBH.
nvm found it on the last page where someone else asked
Bioschock 1 and 2, already have their flags set within the drivers by nvidia.
The one in the guide is for a much more resource intensive version of AA, SGSSAA.
negative LOD=sharper image (textures look more defined, detailed), with more shimering when in motion.
negative LOD is used with SGSSAA to counteract the bluriness that happens when you apply it in some games.
For other purposes, its better to clamp LOD.
Thank you for the reply.
Does this mean when setting AA for bioshock 1 & 2 I do not need to use any code, and I can just set it it for 4x AA in the settings for it to work?
yep, the code is already applied by nvidia, so even without nv inspector, both bioshock games have MSAA. For best results without performance loss, combine that with SMAA injector, or some other injector tool.
or just plain old fxaa straight from nvidia control panel.
4xAA+SMAA injector will look very nice and you won't notice jaggies unless you go pixel hunting or have a well trained eye
Although with your 680, you can afford a lot more AA then that.
you will have to experiment to find what you like best
Yes, NLOD should only be used with TrSGSSAA. And the amount of times when you actually need it can vary 50/50. A lot of games IMO don't need it. Others need it a lot.
Here's a comparison of The Last Remnant with NLOD and 4XSGSSAA(This game does not need it IMHO. The game has huge problems with shimmering and using NLOD is counteractive to the AA)
