nvidia can force msaa to dx8 just fine without any wrapping, unless optimus is present
The bane of Laptop users :V
Rise of Argonauts looks nice with SSGSS AA :3 Steam screenshot compression may have degraded some qualty, but ingame it does look nice and smooth
Also I need an Avengers mod to turn Jason into Captain America, Hercules into Hulk and just for the heck of it, turn the satyr into Martian Manhunter (yes I know he's DC, but I think it'd be funny for me :V)
I am aware. But you never know, if it isn't working DX8 maybe doing it in DX9 will.
They can behave differently. Legend of Heroes VI for example, before there was an official DX9 mode, forcing in DX8 worked without any flags but when wrapping it. It would have to have a flag to work. Where as with the official DX9 back end you don't need a flag.
Without knowing every step the other person is doing (I'd sometimes rather not have to install every game to figure stuff out for people lol), it's just a thought that maybe it might work if they wrapped it and used a flag if it didn't work without flags in DX8 or with flags in DX8. It's a game of whack a mole.
Just chiming in to say that the AA bit 0x080000C1
DOES NOT WORK ON THE GAME SCARY GIRL @_@
However this bit seems to inject some AA into the game at least
Apologies for using IMGUR as I needed to do a quick screen grab :V
Notice the trees in the foreground as they don't have jaggies or aliasing on them.
edit2: d'oh it's the DEPTH OF FIELD option.
For whatever odd reason, what I mentioned only occurs if you disable this. I will test the bits again and attempt to provide some screenshots.
0x080000C1 does not work as in the base, the background is all red XP
Doesn't help without screenshots, also using AA fix or not? Borderless or FSE? Some UE3 games get weird with borderless/windowed like Borderlands.
Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III
You can enhance the MSAA in this game to SGSSAA. The quality is pretty good actually, it helps out with quite a bit of specular aliasing. It's not perfect but it is very sharp, as long as you don't enable HBAO+.
Using HBAO+ unfortunately causes the image to soften and causes some visual glitches with the HBAO+ as well. Shame, but with the anime art style missing out on HBAO+ isn't the worst. (As the implementation here also isn't 100% temporally stable either).
Also, you cannot use the AA Fix, as it makes hair look worse.
MFAA is a decent option when downsampling+SGSSAA and FXAA like the first 2 games. Heck if you wan the ultra cheap economy option, native res + 2xMSAA+2xSGSSAA+MFAA+FXAA (Which will hide rough edges from MFAA) doesn't look completely bad.

Yeah, that didn't work.
I flushed it anyways, cuz it's locked at 30 FPS, which gives me headaches after a short while.
