Different die, i agree, but they already have done it with **70 renamed in **60 in the 10** or 20** series (and renamed die). But when they have done it it was due to lack of original one... And it is not the case now... they are all minning somewhere.
im constantly hitting 6gb vram usage on rainbow 6 siege running at 25% of UW 1440p which is effectively 720p according to the render scale on the game I wouldnt buy an 8-10gb card today unless it was under $199, nvidia seems to love skimping on memory every time they can, I still regret buying that 768mb GTX460, anyone with a 3gb 1060 care to share recent experiences? definitely, nvidia also has better memory compression than AMD, so you often see 3gb 1060 keeping up/beating 4gb rx570 even while both have their vram filled up, quite the feat but they cant/wont support that software wizardry indefinitely, and thats one way you see the "amd fine wine" theory come to life
