Which one to wait? Deus EX HR (AMD), Battlefield 1 (AMD), Star Citizen upcoming patch (AMD), TW WH (AMD).

What dx12 games favoring nvidia do you talking about? Also, like Anarion said above, Tomb Raider just got an async patch and it seems boosts performance guess for who? :p

Never said you did my friend. :) Was just picking the scenarios you also picked.

Tbh the async boost is small some 3-4% but total boost with the newest patch to amd seems to be 8-13% depending on resolution and of course the 13 is for 1080p

    Reduced CPU overhead?

I never saw a benchmark with Rise of Tombraider patched for AMD, can put here some interesting results?

Yeah I know -- I guess I'm just used to posting the direct link instead of the embed in case it breaks scrolling plus it makes the posts look cleaner. I rarely embed images in my posts.

Yup they improved multithreading in the game.

@ender79 go check tomb raider topic in amd section for that info :)

Naa i think we are fine man , i can still play most games at high instead of very high so im quite good. Im still playing on a 60hz screen also.
If i need start setting things at medium ill concider it :p

I just read it, seems to me the biggest benefit is from patch itself rather than turning Asyncshaders on which will give you another 3% overall

And is about r9 nano , nothing about any nvidia gpus

Yeah there seems to be about a 9% increase in performance in general from the patch, across all systems in DX12. I've seen 1-5% increases with Async on for AMD but I haven't seen any Pascal Async On vs Off comparisons. Probably because no one can buy them, always out of stock.. oooooooooooooh

I guess I can test it when I get home if something hasn't come out by then.

If there's such big differences for AMD, of which only a small part is attributed to AC, then, there surely must be improvements for Nvidia across the board aswell with Pascal benefitting the most?

Minimum framerates with Async on are way lower but the average is slightly higher. Probably a tuning problem. Overall it looks like a ~10% improvement from the patch and ~2.75% improvement from Async.

I haven't seen anyone post Pascal stuff yet but Maxwell performance looks identical about ~10% improvement from the patch itself.

Minimum fps does look a mess with AC on. I would say turn AC off for this particular title until it's fixed unless it's an AMD driver problem (which I doubt).

Mountain Peak seems to benefit the most, the other two a few fps.

If they fix those mins for Async the avg should jump quite a bit looking at how the highs jumped. Geothermal Valley being only place not getting boost.

Just that Async is not good to use now with AMD cards considering the minimums.

I remember EPIC saying to not overuse A-Sync. Maybe this was the point they were making.

As time goes on the implementation of async computer on more games with increasing complexity the necessity to have it will increase and if nvidia dont implement a hardware solution soon they will be left behind.
This cards to expensive and to late.

I don't think it'll make much difference for the next 12months at least.

If it was such a big deal, then, Nvidia would've done it for Pascal. Maybe in 2yrs time it'll be more wide-spread. As of 2016...not really.

Not really considering the 1070 and 1080 AIB cards are less expensive than the FE
