It won't be a new gpu.

They invited android police to the event. Why would they invite editors for an android blog to a event about a gpu? They wouldn't.

If they reveal a graphics card that can run games on an 8k monitor at 120hz and 120fps then i'll be impressed. Until then, keep trying NVidia.

Unless your "wishes" were sarcastic, he has a point.

4K gaming is still a no-go on a single GPU, for the most part.

And you expect 8K which is 4x 4K, not twice as many pixes, and you want it at 120 fps.

    Come back in 5 years

As far as the announcement, it'll probably be some boring mobile chip.

Im gonna say VR SLI. They must have been working on it since they ever started working on any kind of VR technology because it makes sense to have optimized SLI for VR and it seems like a great way to sell 2 cards to every customer when VR hits the scene hard. The timing is pretty spot on too as oculus have said it would be a failure if they did not release the consumer version within 2015.

    Maxwell already supports VR SLI.

Seems like someone supposedly talked to Nvidia Russia and it's nvidia's tegra chip integrated in smart TV's (whoever they partner with) to allow for gaming directly from the TV as well as streaming from your PC that supports it to the TV. It actually makes sense because of the fact Android Police were invited to the event.

If it's just a new processor or a successor to the Sheild tablet I will be disappointed but not surprised. I demand a flying robot maid service :cyclone: !

Samsung has such TV for "gaming" and has Gamepads with it.
    But price...
And it is on android... wireless gamepads are redefinition of tablet gaming itself already.

If it took them 5 years to develop a smart tv with a X1 I'm going to be seriously disappointed. Not to mention that I hope Nvidia doesn't think gaming on a TV is "redefining the future".

They considered the Shield to be revolutionary, as sad as it is I wouldn't doubt it's a smart TV, or a set top box....

I had to LOL at their marketing department. Those guys must be still sitting around that boardroom table laughing at what they think people will believe.

Redefine my pants, they were 5,000 years in the making bitch.

What could this be?; absolutely no idea but, I garuntee you it will not be:

    (a) Something we asked for or need.
    (b) A new render engine / graphics engine / game engine, that will allow for development portability to Android. That will be free. To everyone.
