That's why there's an "if" there.

Go back further, the GeForce 5/FX series failed miserably. The FX 5600 was roughly equal to what? The Ti 4200? Good ol' Ti 4200, still have mine, lol.

GTX 280 does not beat 8800GTX SLI . 285 is a die shrink, which also doesn't beat 8800GTX SLI nor 88GTS G92 die shrink, 9800GTX+ SLI. So... whatever.

But, I'm expecting GTX 480 to beat the GTX 295. GTX 295's performance in a single GPU with all It's and additional features. That's the card I'm waiting for. 8 more days only !

I had a 5600FX :( it was "ok"... atlast it played source games :D

Everywhere is continuing to say that it's 5-10% faster than the 5870, yet you still drivel on claiming it's way faster.

And then you're adamant that it would be as fast or faster than the 5970, and now you're happy if it's equal to the GTX295? Make your mind up will you.

Personally, i don't think my trusty old GTX295 would have anything to worry about from the GTX480, not in games that scale well anyway. I think it will fall a little short due to the slower than expected clock speeds, and i still say you're going to be disappointed, but no doubt you'll come on here showing a brave face even if you were, trying to tell us otherwise.

Ah, so they have sent you some cards! About time! To make sure they're not that late again I say we should put a horse's head in Jen-Hsun Huang's bed. He'll know what he did wrong. :wanker:

As I said I'm expecting to be atleast GTX 295 in a single GPU, in current dx9/10 ofc. games.

Well, I was kinda kidding the trolls in that thread back then... Ah that was a good 2 hour laugh. Can't believe you still didn't get that ? Even after I even said it in the same thread.
But in reality i was reffering to the FC2 bench which showed 3 fps difference between 5970 and "GF100".
Tho, yes, i would more than happy with 295's performance in a single gpu. With all it's and additional features. That's why I decided to wait for this card. And not get 5870 right away.

Considering the Radeons have been around for over 9000 years, I'd want at least 25% faster. Great, 5-10% faster than prehistoric fossils, way to go nVidia.

Hilbert, don't know if this has been asked before, but since your video cards specs say "AMD | NVIDIA" does that mean when you review a new video card you keep it until the next great review? If so, you own one of the bests websites and have the greatest job ever!!!

i upgraded from a ti4200 to 5600 Ultra and in some games it was slower, i took it back and got a 9700pro which lasted me for years.

I can wait for the fermi reviews, and to be brutally honest I couldn't give a toss. My 4890's still own most games and one my 4890's was free from Guru3D.:D

I'm pretty sure they don't just "give" him the GPU. Most of the hardware he receives are press kits and have to be sent back once he's constructed his review and benchmarked it up.
