sorry but this must be the funniest post of this year. you clearly have no clue at all.
The many 'cores' of a GPU are suited to parallel processing.
Its the most hardcore gamers that stick with the old games and don't just drift off to the next bit of fluff.
cod4 cod5 well any cod lol etc..
agreed, he clearly doesn't have a clue. lol
Good conclusion "base our real opinions on the final product". As for the rest ... looks like "little opinionated editorial" free(?) publicity.
I'm talking about the real classic games there.
So true, I've been gaming since Moses wore short pants and I spend most of my time playing Raven Shield at the moment
Right now I'm enjoying a run through of Diablo 2 :3eyes:
Tell that to South Koreans who play Starcraft like a it was a religion. Besides, old games don't necessarily mean that it is a bad game. It just means that the graphics aren't the best looking. Gameplay is more important for "hard core" gamers anyways.
No need to write in giant font either. I suppose that most trolls and fanboys in this world don't realize what they are.
Hilbert, i did not learn anything new from your article. I disagree with what you say below, in my opinion how much faster Fermi is to the 5870 will be the key issue.
It is not trivial. If the information about yields + costs is true nvidia will not be in
a position to sell this card cheaply. Therefore the perfomance will be key.
"Whether or not how much faster or slower Fermi / GT100 will be will remain trivial, but it will al depend on pricing. If Fermi is slightly slower, then the prices will be adjusted accordingly. So in the end it will everything will make sense again."
I am not a fan-boy of either company...whoever has the best gear has the best gear...and whatever is the truth is the truth...deal with it
I found this funny; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VpZXhR1ibj8#
hmm.. still nowhere anything popping up regarding the 480/470GTX? no review nothing.. are the cards already at the manufacturers? (EVGA, ASUS, MSI etc?)
anybody some insider information?
Final specs and pricing revealed, the 480 is indeed 512sp, but its only 5-10% faster than the 5870, with the 470 being around the same (5-10%) faster than the 5850.
Pic of 480 :-
That's terrible if true, didnt even match last gen sli performance.
Geforce 6800Ultra < Geforce 7900GTX twice as fast
7900 GTX < 8800GTX beat sli 7900GTX
8800 GTX < 285 GTX beat sli 8800GTX
285 GTX < 480 GTX failed to match sli
If true first generation to ever fail.
Won't be out for long either at those prices, as its known they were going to have to sell them at a loss, but to be selling them at that much of a loss, then they won't have them around for long, as no one in their right mind would continue to sell at a loss, so selling at a bigger loss, they'll be canning them sooner, so id get em while yer can, as EOL will be imminent.
Interestingly, the TDP of GeForce GTX 480 is almost similar to Radeon HD 5970 which is a dual GPU card.
so i wonder the GTX 495 with dual GPU on a sigle PCB how much TDP it will have..
i guess people sorted out the heating in winter... get quad sli with two 495
the disappointment of the year, but you nvidia enjoy being king for 3 months untill the 32 nm 5800 radeons come out
Nice prices, not so nice power usage, slightly confused how a dual GPU card will be even possible in one PCI-E slot.
Maybe Nvidia is working on something special, and this is just to buy them time for a few months.
How do you know this?
Have you seen real benchmarks? I have not, I have seen some of the GTX470, not sure if they are real but it was about the same as a 5870 in most tests.
So if thats true I would think the GTX480 would be about the same as SLI GTX280's.
Going off the above link? i said also if true....:wanker:
Internal benchmarks reveal that GeForce GTX 470 is some 5-10% faster than Radeon HD 5850 and similiar for GeForce GTX 480 over the Radeon HD 5870.
