Ok, I have done that. Question then.

If I were to go 8X MultiGPU with 16X SuperSampling...

Would 2x SGSSAA be the same or better than 16x SS ?

I doubt it, 2x sgssaa isn't great quality, 4xs sgssaa is though. But i would just go with whichever gives you decent performance and decent image quality.

I'm finding Space Marine's own post-processing AA to be pretty disappointing and inconsistantly applied and, although the Inject FXAA hack works in reducing aliasing, unfortunately on my system it increases the tendency of the game to crash to the desktop.

I have tried the 0x000D1284 flag suggested in the Space Marine thread and it doesn't corrupt the visuals like other settings do but that seems to be because it isn't working properly. Memory usage and performance remain the same even with 16xCSAA and 8xSGSSAA forced!!!

Has anyone found a working AA solution yet that doesn't crash the game?

Well, 4x AA & 4x SGSSAA .... LOTRO can not handle it.

Turbine has F'd up the DX11 in the game SO bad that SLI users are forced to pretty much stay 8x AA only.

And since WB owns them, they're not allowed to fix any bugs in the game.

I loaded up WoW with the settings you mentioned and the game ran fine, though those settings for a game with those graphics isn't really needed.

Turbine is a POS company. This last updated they messed up the DX11 water in the game.....AGAIN. And once again, no fix.

Well i thought so, but i cant get AA to work with only MLAA and TrSSAA ?

It works with MLAA and SGSSAA ? (but SGSSAA gives white lines in shadows)

But even without sli your gtx 590 should be able to handle 4x sgssaa in lotr online. It runs quite well for me on a gtx 570 but there is still a bit of slow down here and there. But i do agree they really ****ed up lotr its not even like its a console port its a straight to pc game. And the graphics aren't exactly the most amazing out there.

I noticed an improvement when I disabled DX11 water effects using sgssaa, but it wasn't by much. I gave up with trying to improve on that game. The DX11 in LOTRO is just a marketing tactic so they can slap it on the box.

No other game I play has this many issues with AA and SLI.

which one of those is the best and has the less performance hit and where would i put it in inspector? in the AA compatibility tab?

@Firestorm - I haven't tried them all but the 0x00001241 works brilliantly with no noticeable performance hit when using v-sync and 16xQCSAA/Transparency Multisampling. At 1920x1200 though it uses 1.3 GB of memory, fine for the GTX 580 but perhaps not so great for the 560 Ti unless you want lots of stuttering! The others I would imagine would be far more demanding but might be worth it for the superior anti-aliasing.

To add them just open NVIDIA Inspector in Administrator mode, select the Space Marine profile then add the required flag to the Anti-aliasing compatibility setting (ignore the DX10 one as this is a DX9 game) under the Compatibility section. Click Apply, quit Inspector and you're good to go.
