@ mastershakejb, seriously dude, giving out details on how to get illegal copies of a software is not OK with the forums, simply because this could lead to trouble. I know most do it, but no need to wave a flag.

Personally I would upgrade to Vista first so that you could use DX10 (even though there are rumors of DX10 coming to XP). After that I would upgrade to the 21" so that you could really flex the muscle of the video card you already have (which should last you at least a year). Lastly I would upgrade to the 9800GTX because without the first two this newer card really does you no good.

What are they going to do? Ban me for calling you out on promoting illegal software piracy on their message boards? I highly doubt that.

mastershakejb & LedHed; give it a rest okay ? I'm sure there are far better things to do then to gut each other at each and every opportunity.

Yes. I will probably get things that way. LCD in couple of days, Vista by the end of August and then 9800 GTX around spring-summer, or ill just wait for next gen cards than.

Is the 8900 series confirmed or is this still just speculation?

by the time the 9800 hits stores the new crop of DX10 games will be in stores. Thats the point of it, the 8800 is killer in DX9 apps and when UT3 and Cysis hit they will fall to there knees. Now nvidia will not stand around and watch there big bad card falls hard, so they will put out a card that is up to the challange of the holiday games. Thats how it always works, look at last x-mas, the 8800 hit and everyone had to have one for the new crazy games. Same thing here the GFX world needs to show they are up to the task. This cycle has gone on for ever, any old reader should know this by now.

I don't think it will be so much the 8 series will fall to its knees, as much as it will be the 8 series is already 8 months old. Its time for the next line.

Microsoft start working on new Windows 7 in 2009 if I am not mistake...

    Window 7 with directx 11.0 or 11.1 with 9800 or 10800 results better ?

Which mean Vista is dead as Window Me well-known, I am glad I got Vista for free that come with new my laptop, good thing I dont need desktop Vista anytime, Still use XP for gaming.

    8800 and Vista = RIP...?

I had money for 2 8800gtx's but the release price was over €700

I had €1100 for gpu's, so you see the price is big on release.

It might even be 800-900 for one card.

Thats why i'm gonna wait till the 9 series are at least 4 months old before buying.

What, people actually buy the cards as soon as they come out? :paranoid:

I'd always recommend trying to buy in spring/summer if possible (get into a routine of doing it every summer if you wish). That way you benefit from lower prices, drivers that aren't bollocksed, and more general support for the card.

True enough. I just think that some people like to have the latest and best gadgets. Economy is probably not very high on their list of considerations, otherwise, who the heck would buy, say, C2D E6700 or indeed a X6800 when you can buy a much cheaper CPU (3-4 times) and then OC it?
