what are your thoughts compared this to 71.89?

i think 71.89 (from leadtek's WINFOX) is much superior on stability and fluent in gameplay.

These may get higher FPS on CS:S but when it comes down to battle, i drip FPS massively

After doing some testing i noticed that my FPS were much higher in some games (i upgraded from 67.03).

Here are some examples (1280x1024, 2XAA, 16XAF, all settings in all games were set to highest quality):

    - SP Chaos Theory (Bank level - outside):
    67.03 - 27 FPS
    71.89 - 32 FPS
    76.45 - 38 to 40 FPS

    - DOOM 3 (Timedemo):
    67.03 - 88 FPS
    71.89 - 90 FPS
    76.45 - 92 FPS

    - Half-Life 2 (Black Mesa East - Outside, looking to the right side of the water):
    67.03 - 55 FPS
    71.89 - 57 FPs
    76.45 - 64 FPS

    - SW: KOTOR (Dantooine - Sandral Estate):
    67.03 - between 40 and 50 FPS
    71.89 - 2 to 20 FPS (that's right)
    76.45 - same as 67.03

    YES!!!

I was in the 76.44s and then I switched to the 71.89s because of vsync problems and now rthdribl is soooooooooooo much faster - like 22 fps to 40 fps. Strange.

    Aquamark scores:

    71.89-67540
    76.45-73776
    75.90-75124

When I read this thread, I laughed cause I have a driver folder named "Crap" and the 71.89's are in it.

Just a note about RTHDRIBL. I saw that it was running a lot slower in the 76.45 drivers too, but I accidentally left it on overnight. When I looked at it today, the framerate had smoothed out considerably. Definitely not imagining it either, as I restarted RTHDRIBL and it had slowed down again. Weird. Was running at 1024x768.

Other than this one app though, the 76.45 drivers seem great to me. Definitely better performance in FarCry SM3.0. :)

Nice driver, just notied that when using SLI, seems to produce less frame rates and low benchmark scores. For a single card setup, this is a great driver. Gonna keep 75.90 (my personal favourite)

When RTHDRIBL is running by default it automatically changes the glare type to another every some minutes. The first one needs more resources than some others. So the framerate also varies dramatically.

This is confusing for noobs and could also make them think that 71.89 runs it better... Maybe I'm wrong and they are right, but it's very suspicious that everything runs better with the newer drivers except for this little program.

I'll wait for a confirmation anyway.

Ah, this was why it seemed to be running a lot smoother earlier. Just happened to be set to glare type 2 when I caught it (which runs a lot faster than all the others).

Even so, these new drivers are still a lot slower on this one program than the 71.89s. Definitely doesn't seem to be just a glare type issue. Dunno why it is, and you're absolutely right that it's suspicious considering the performance in virtually everything else improves. hmm...

Meh. Far Cry runs great on these, so I'm sticking with 'em.

how are you guys' experiences with ut2k4...I had some bouts of lag and crashing with 71.89 but after moving back to 6766b (stable ones for me atleast) I realized my bios-chipset fan had bit the dust :D got that fixed up now but haven't tried 71.89 again yet.

I'm just wondering if people have probs with ut2k4 (crashing, fps dips), I've hear of some with 7x.xx drivers, if not I'll try them...I play this game alot

Looking at the download page for this driver, what date is 22th or April!? LOL!

Not going to try these as my 71.89's are working fine in Vice City, Project Snowblind, Dungeon Lords and Pariah contrary to people saying these drivers are 'crap' :)
