Dont rub salt into it:confused:, i'm trying to stabilize my OS to allow 19041 to install, in order to benchmark it myself. However, I see more people unable to upgrade as well, there has to be something common to our configuration, ms has to figure it out.

You mean wont go the .21 cu or the insider 19541? did you try a repair in-place install of 19041 on top of itself?

Overwatch Test on 3900x with 1080ti.
Cpu: 30C under load Gpu: 47C under load. (To rule out thermal throttling.) Monitor: 2560x1440p @ 120hz. Low latency mode set to Ultra for all runs, prefer maximum performance and highest available refresh rate settings.

    Setup/ Framerate Min/Avg/Max/1% Low/.1% Low
    Regular: 301/379/401/242/186
H-A Gpu:336/390/401/257/183 (ran game longer and it dropped to 306/386/401/249/182)
    Regular+Fastsync:239/338/373/239/213
    H-A Gpu+Fastsync:238/312/373/238/191

    Analysis:
In my case, in this particular game, Hardware-Accelerated Gpu Scheduling raised Min fps by 10.4%, Avg fps increased by 2.8%, 1% low fps increased 5.8%, and .1% fps lows decreased 1.6%.

With FastSync enabled, Hardware-Accelerated Gpu Scheduling reduced Avg fps by 7.7% and .1% fps by 10.3%.

If using the results from running the game longer, Hardware-Accelerated Gpu Scheduling increased fps by 1.6%. This conclusion is probably safer to assume, but different things happen in game so my test isn't truly sound. I kept the level and fighting area's the same. It is strange to note that FastSync performed worse with Hardware-Accelerated Gpu Scheduling.

Can I say I felt any difference between the two settings? Not really, but I'm already 3X higher than my monitors refresh rate with a 1000hz mouse. (To any naysayers about running fps higher than refresh rate, Yes there is a difference. 1x vs 2x vs 3x is pretty noticeable, especially the judder when moving left to right.) I may try to run some aiming latency tests and see if there is any big differences. (edit: Opengl reaction speed test resulted inline with my previous tests)

Benchmark wise, I only used TimerBench and didn't log any results since the results were basically the same. Or in other words, pushing my gpu overclock slightly yielded a larger delta than gpu scheduling did (in my case).

I haven't looked into the scheduling much so I don't know if games or benchmarks need to coded properly/differently for the scheduling to be more efficient or not, that may be a factor.

This work for me , only one time i ever had a problem.
If your Windows Update is not working properly or not working at all or if you find that the size of this folder has really grown large, then you can consider deleting the Software Distribution folder in Windows

Disable VT-D in the bios, x79's and x99's and x58's do not like windows 10 with this enabled

x79/x99 does the black screen thing since creators, while x58's will hang at the startup logo.

Software Distribution doesn't grow large enough between windows 10 builds to warrant deleting it.

Nvidia Installer Failed when clicking in the setup.exe.

Winver 1909 and gtx 1080. Do I need to edit something to accept my deviceID or I need to do something else to install this driver?

Awesome, thanks. I wonder if Fastsync performs worse because it's essentially rendering as many frames as it can and throwing any away above the refresh rate, maybe that puts the scheduling out of whack. Similarly, latency set to Ultra only lets the CPU prepare 1 frame maximum, I wonder if the results will be ever better if this was disabled (which will default to 2 or 3 frames, though some games also can control this queue. Overwatch may be one of them if there's a setting related to 'preparing frames in advance').

Out of interest could you also test low latency just on normal (no Ultra or Low) with Fastsync, and then low latency on normal and no Fastsync? And add it to the results above.

Thanks if you can, no worries if you can't, appreciate what you've done so far.

Couldn't install from the downloaded folder but Windows Update did the job. Both VRR and the scheduler are available. Since I don't have a mouse with LED then tomorrow I will try the response time test from CSGO to see if I could improve my timings. I discovered that 1909 is paging frames because my results was worse in that test and GPUView confirmed paging while in fullscreen (GPU had low usage and faster render time than CPU).

I have pretty much the same Performance with hardware scheduling enabled.
I will Posts Benchmarks Today with hardware scheduling on and off

The only thing i noticed the OS sems way faster with hardware scheduling on but the card is much hotter in idle because GPU and memory clocks are set to static(base clock) with h-s enabled.
