Windows 10 drivers, why use these instead of the proper version?

Not to be an ass, but why not upgrade to a newer gpu? Do you think that dx12 games will get optimized for a 580?

Nope all updates on auto. I play mostly GW2 so would like to get these drivers working. I had to do a system restore to get things back to normal.

Maybe change the topic title then?

Edit: I hope nvidia is going to split the versions very soon (non unified). Windows 7/8 and Windows 10. These drivers are allready a mess.

Try this cause I bet its the pos windows update causing your issues. Run windows update and let it install the nvidia drivers. Then run this tool and block the nvidia update. Make sure to hit "advanced" and check the " auto repair" option. Restart and try installing this driver set as an admin (right click run as admin) even if you are one

Yeah that would explain why my DX11 games aren't running as well with these compared to 353.75, shame we can't get the best of both worlds, hope they figure this out soon.

Staying on 353.75 because they are awesome for me! Every time I've tried a new driver when the previous one was working has buggered up my plans

Batman: Arkham Knight still crashes with PhysX enabled on my 980 GTX in Windows 10. Take a little longer for it to happen though.

Windows 10 has been a total mess for gaming so far. Half the games don't seem to work right. I'm going to blame NVIDIA for crap drivers.

Question is wrong. Dx 12 games get optimized for dx 12 , rest is just up to the vga vendors . I am quiet happy with my vga. What i use is more than enough. Got over 130-180+ fps in bf4 with my config file. GTA V runs great and i just don't care about the rest of the ultra hype.

My DX11 drawcalls haven't dropped at all with these drivers, infact i got a very slight increase in DX11 drawcalls with this set of drivers along with a massive increase in DX12 drawcalls.

Mozilla removed the blocking of 353.62 as well. As I've said this was a rather bad call on their part.

Interesting. I thought this is something that Windows should control by itself.

So to prevent TDR's, you no longer need to set Prefer Maximum Performance in the nVidia CP?

Or am I miss reading this?

    Thank you.

Yeah, 353.49 was superb here as well. I got +20% at Multi-threaded DX 11. I was kinda what a heck? :D
