Another good news would be that Nvidia seems to take it serious and they left in GPU, Video Engine and Memory Controller Load for non G200 series cards in the Desktop as well as Quadro Driver :)

Try doing a complete uninstall and driver sweeping before installation. That fixed my settings not sticking problem.

BetA13 - I've done those suggestions too and install the same way you do, nothing has worked for me. The best it gets is allowing me to save 2 or sometimes 3 profiles only.

Hi, same problem with the profiles. Did the same clean install, deleted all the nvidia folders. What i did manage was initially add my games and make the changes. I then used the Profile Export tool to export the profiles. So I have a "working" copy of my profiles. All I do is import them, the control panel is still a mess, I cannot make any changes, and it will even crash when adding a game that is not listed, but my games that i did manage to customise do seem to be working or at least I think they are. Games seem to be running far better than previous drivers, but this could be because most of the settings are not being applied correclty.

If on Win7 go to C:\ProgramData\NVIDIA\ and create an empty file called NvStarted .

Maybe that solve the disappearing profiles.

EDIT: You have maybe to do a reboot after that

With 257.21 I got "Quake Wars: Enemy Territories" in the game list, with Kombustor icon (Kombustor is MSI 'FurMark' type app), tells little how scr*wed up things are.

Never owned or installed QW: ET, and ofcourse after uninstalling Kombustor, that item disappeared from the list, tells little how scr*wed up things are.

IIRC furmark (the tool kombustor is based on) uses the ET:QW profile to avoid the limitations put in ploace by AMD and nvidia to stop it from overheating and destroying their highest-end graphics cards with the amount of heat it makes them produce. thats why it shows up as that in your profiles list, it isnt a problem with the driver in the slightest.

Not to sound like an *ssh*le but i'm glad other people have the same issue with the 3d settings not sticking when configuring the profiles. I've tried to copy the nvstarted file but the problem is still there. It's strange how some people have no issues and other peolpe have. Maybe a Win7 x64 issue only? Lets hope for a bug fix in the next driver since this issue is present from 257.21 and on....for now this drivers are going down the....:grab:

Just click on restore default settings. If that doesn't work you can use Nvidia Inspector...
