NVIDIA 258.69 Beta is out!

Eh, you guys know how Nvidia is, ATI is no better. When a new card comes out, it takes like 5-10 driver releases for all card series to be stable.

 

Agreed. I tried these drivers a couple of times with no luck. Just gotta be patient. :bed:

went back to 258.19.

apart from youtube vids crashing gfx driver if also noticed quality has gone down with hardware acceleration or without as if nvidia control panel is forcing anti aliasing on flash player.

 

:dead: *sigh* All I get is black screens and BSODs with SLI...

Did a fresh Windows 7 x64 install after I noticed windows log book was full of "Desktop Window Manager id 9019" errors, reported every windows start. These logs started long before juli..late may maybe.

When all was installed and updated (no errors in log book, 258.69 driver), installed latest SLI Mod. Still no problems in log book...Added the 2nd card and enabled SLI in 258.69 nvcpl. no log book errors..play a game..get bsod or freeze..surf the net..black screen or freeze. install Firefox 4 beta 1..black and blue all day thru. checking log book: few desktop window manager errors, ids: 9002, 9003, 9007
tested with other monitor, same sh?t

luckily I live very close to a liquer shop :banana: too bad they've closed now

over and out, that was my absolutely last 258.69 install ! Rockin' with 257.15 !

Thx for advice but I think I'll wait for a newer driver ! Funny how the drivers "grow" at different locations...missing inf here, added inf there...they should hire someone to do this !

 

Bad drivers for me, all is fine except for the youtube glitch when playing multiple videos that froze up the pc and i had to hard restart. Back to 257.21

Look at your screenshot it's 258.80, not 258.88

 

More flash crashes here taking out the video driver. Going to have to disable gpu accel until next driver. Only 1 game related crash and L4D2/TF2 do feel a tad more 'stuttery' with these, but I'll stay on them until the next ones are out unless I'm bored enough to do the whole uninstall,reboot/regclean/drivercleaner, safeboot/driversweeper, reboot/ccleaner reg clean, reinstall process.

 

Why everyone has problems with Flash ?? maybe you need the newest Firmware of your 4XX card ? cause i updated mine from old 70.00.1A.00.02
to 21 like in the screenshot, it fixes many problems with dual monitors, Temp, and others. 70.00.21.00.02 hmmm new one xD 04

 

Flash hardware acceleration with 257.21 was crashing too.
At least on 8800's.

 

Had enough of this driver, the flickering in lotro with SLI was the final straw.

It looks like nVidia has again decided to use whatever optimisation it was that broke lotro with the early 18x.xx drivers.

Back to 189.74 WHQL with no power management (i.e. no stuttering due to changing clocks mid game) and no downclocking issues on the 2nd card after exiting a game.

 

The driver works gr8 with 4xx series... i duno for old ones but i got some serious speedups with those 258.69 especially when showing wireframes in Stone Giant before was like 5-10 fps when show wireframe on extreme tessalation and now is like 30 to 50 fps with wireframes showed.
And i dont have any problems using flash player like at all...

im getting major improvements now that i reinstalled these drivers on my pc every game feels smoother now with sli

 

disabling hardware acceleration in flash is not a solution for me, thats just a workaround so u dont go mad. These drivers are still a no-no for me.

 

GPU1 overclocks while GPU2 stays default

Is it my hardware or the 200 series drivers having problems with the GTX295 's?

When I overclock my 295 GPU1 will clock higher as GPU2 stays the default clock.

GPU1 780MHz
GPU2 576MHz

I sure hope this is driver related
