NVIDIA 257.15 Beta out for grabs

Think these are the best drivers yet, although i'm getting no sli support in EFLC

got a few extra points in vantage with these

 

So far all my games tested except GTA EFLC got FPS increases. BFBC2 dramatically increased in performance, it's shocking.

 

I think you can buy ur second GTX470 m8!! ...

Right. Try taking benchmarks on the same map, cause I doubt you can compare a benchmark from ambush with avalanche.

Hey, question guys...Why the Physx setting change?

Like, if I had no knowledge, and were just coming across this, it would look to me like the GPU could now (I'm not saying it can) handle all Physx, and the CPU option is there just for compatibility purposes.

Especially from the way the stuff on the page is worded.

 

Just installed these. First game I tested with my 295 was Splinter Cell: Conviction. There is still no native SLI support with his driver.

I'm also getting very brief but frequent microstuttering in >all< games I've tested (Left 4 Dead 1 and 2, World of Warcraft, Street Fighter IV) that I did not notice in 197 series. So far these drivers seem to be lousy for me.

 

Uhm, all series 8 and up are able to handle all PhysX for quite a while now. It was marketed fairly heavily with the release of Mirror's Edge as well.

 

No they can't, it has to be GPU Physx ala Mirror's Edge and Dark Void.

I'm saying they make it sound and look in the panel like you now have the option, for CPU Physx, to use the GPU.

 

Uhm no, the fact the other PhysX titles didn't work was because they didn't make it compatible yet. They began to add support after that, though I'm not entirely sure which work. I know Advanced Warfighter 2 does.

Gained 1fps in heaven with these new drivers, pretty impressed!

 

Advanced warfighter came with PPU support, which was easy to port to GPU.

No game with exclusively CPU Physx support has been ported via the drivers to run on the GPU, none.

 

im shocked as well and naa, everything seems to work fine now...

Fair enough, I interpreted your post a little bit differently. The titles I came across that use the PhysX SDK without hardware acceleration by either PPU or GPU had very little physics going on, so I didn't take the ones focussing on CPU seriously.

Following up on that, I highly doubt the GPU can take over those per this driver release.

 

damnit..

i still cant select 1680x1050 @ 60hz on my second HDTV..
and it wont play GTA4 with 59hz cause my TV sais then please set to 1680x1050 @ 60 HERTZ......

but it always reverts back to 59 hz when i try to set it...

what can i do?? PLEASE HELP ME, i cant play any game on the TV when its not on the 60hz its supposed to be...

Everything seems ok except AB isn't registering my 2nd gpu's usage. It clocks fine and my sli indicater says its running fine but AB is saying my card is at 0%. Anyone else have/had this??

Even if i run Kombuster now too, my 2nd card will heat up but the usage shows 0%
