Settings stick here....frames have gone up in many games....all of em feel smoother....using MSI Afterburner 1.6.1 Beta (i think) and am not encountering any micro stuttering or anything like that

i reinstalled and turned off fan monitor in msi , set fan to 75% and the stutter is no longer present

however on my 200 series i get no gains in games or benches over 197.57 betas so bit perplexed as to where this extra performance is coming from people are getting

vantage , heaven , 3dmark06 mw2 , nfs shift all identical to previous drivers , max and min fps all the same

    Good drivers - BBC2 runs faster indeed (from ~20-30 and up fps it moved to ~40-50 and up;)GTA4 runs faster too (still runs & look like poo :p );
Only game I had problems with was Mass Effect 2 - it became choppy and all, sound started to crackle and had a big mouse lag (something I havent encountered with this game before) - turned it was MSI Afterburner running in backround causing this, simply shutting off Afterburner helped. Guess Afterburner needs to be updated for this drivers.
Using RivaTuner for fan control now and no problems at all.
Oh, and MPC-HC (newest build) stuttering seems gone too.

(For those who care - GPU still running in pci-e 1.1 mode on intel x38 motherboards)

My 3D settings don't stick, they keep switching back to default.

    Anyone else getting this?

    EDIT: See my next post...

Guess users need to study reading previous postings in the thread. No MSI Afterburner / EVGA Precision updates for new driver are expected.

These drivers are very good in SLI, both in 3DMarks (+5-10%) and in games (fps). And what more: power consumption is also lower, about 25-45W (the whole system) during load AND idle state -> lowered GPU temps 2-4C with lower fan speed (3-5% units)

I keep telling everyone that reading the pdf release notes is a must. This is why:
    ------------------------------------------------------------------
    "Known Product Limitations, page 26"

GPU Runs at a High Performance Level (full clock speeds) in
    Multi-display Modes

This is a hardware limitation and not a software bug. Even when no 3D programs are
running, the driver will operate the GPU at a high performance level in order to
efficiently drive multiple displays. In the case of SLI or multi‐GPU PCs, the second GPU
will always operate with full clock speeds; again, in order to efficiently drive multiple
displays. Today, all hardware from all GPU vendors have this limitation.

GeForce GTX 295 Fan Control and NVIDIA Control Panel
    Performance Group version 6.03.06.00

The GeForce GTX 295 fan control does not function properly when using the NVIDIA
Control Panel Performance Group version 6.03.06.00. For proper fan control, use version
    6.03.12.00 or later.

gta 4 runs like crap on these drivers starts at 200 fps and slowly drops to 30 with flashing and shutter

Working on loading them now, wonder why the large jump in numbers and the split or end number range??

    (versions 256.xx to 259.xx)

I'm thinking this 259.xx means they will likely beta up till that point.

Hmm, settings doesn't seem to get saved here either?

    I want these settings:

So I'm really changing about every single setting, and not being able to save this is a huge blow for me, after clicking apply everything seems to be just fine, but after re-opening the nVIDIA Control Panel everything goes back to their default setting?

It's funny how some experience this issue, and others don't?
Do everyone with GTX480 face this problem? Is it related to the operating system? What might cause this, as some lucky people don't get affected?

I did the whole remove old driver, run Drive Sweeper + Driver Cleaner thingie, I did even do it within safe mode afterwards just to be sure, but still I'm facing this problem? So shouldn't be related to older drivers, and older files messing something up?
