Nvidia 196.21 WHQL Drivers released

It's back up again now.

 

These drivers fix the safe room load bug experienced for SLI users where our FPS drops badly and an alt+tab would fix this. It fixes it for Left 4 Dead 2, but it doesn't fix it for Left 4 Dead.

 

Mass Effect 2 refuses to boot with the latest physx drivers (PhysX 9.09.1112) giving the error 'unable to intialise physx device' and once i even got 'no physx device found' when trying to launch the game. the only way i could play it was to uninstall the newest ones and reinstall the previous version ones and before anyone asks yes i did uninstall my old drivers booted into safe mode and used driver sweeper to completely clear out the old ones first, didnt make the slightest difference. for some reason the game does not recognise the latest drivers.

Also with the last few drivers i'm getting a black screen of death after playing any game, if i try to exit or alt-tab out any game the screen goes black and i cant do anything it doesnt even respond to alt+ctrl+del i have to press reset and reboot back into windows. thing is sometimes when i alt-tab the game carrys on in the background as i can still here the music playing but like i said the screen just goes black and i have to press reset, its seriously beginning to p*ss me off now.

 

AA settings in control panel are weird. no option to override in some games. in deadspace after enabling every IQ to highest and AO theres no AA in game.

 

Do you have either the Dark Void Demo or Full game installed (or did have) ?

 

yes i did, i unistalled it earlier.

 

I think you can do that using Nhancer

 

I thought Mass Effect 2 wouldn't be released anywhere until at least the 25th?
Maybe for that part of the issue it's just a broken, pirated game?

had the same problem, also had graphic corruption in mw2 where chain link fences looked a solid purple colour, never had any problems like that before

 

Does anyone else have terrible stuttering in crysis 64bit with these drivers and the 195 drivers?
If nvidea keeps this up I will be going back to ati.

I don't know what causes it but my gtx295 stutters and freezes on crysis DX10 64. Yet DX9 crysis runs fine.
Maybe it's a windows7 problem too.

 

I have that problem too.There is some kind of input lag too.hope they will release fixed drivers soon.

WTF ?

 

i have fully tested Physx and my 275+8800gt combo does not work, ive used GPUZ to see if the 8800gt (that is setup to do physx) and it has no load or heat wen playing batman:aa with physx on max all the load still goes to the 275gtx. if any1 with a similar setup can confirm this?, thanks.

ps: ive also tried other apps like folding etc, and still all load goes to 275.
please use gpuz to see the gpu, memory, video engine load for acurate results (sensors tab) remeber to monitor PHYSX dedicated card not main card.
