Installed nTune again, CP starts now, with only the nTune stuff, no graphics related stuff except from overclocking. Re-installed driver and nTune but still the same. :smoke:

Edit.: So Old CP ftw.

    the good:
"Improved performance of the graphics memory manager on GeForce 8
series GPUs running DirectX 9 applications in single-GPU and NVIDIA SLI
    configurations.
These improvements solve cases of reported performance slowdowns in some 3D applications
with high graphics settings and resolutions."

    The bad:
    "Improved" but not "fixed"

The Ugly: No Vista WHQL?! .... DAMNIT

Lol the XP ones probably just passed certification first, so they released them rather than sitting on them - entirely reasonable.
    The Vista ones will come!

As for the Vista bashing, I'll be the first to admit Vista was a pain around launch, but it's become so much better in recent months that the people who still bash Vista are surely the ones who have not used it recently.
That said, I do need to force VSync with Rivatuner to get decent framerates.

    Probably the "OS_TYPE" thingy again.

yust take a look in your nvapps.xml and remove all the "OS-Type" parts in it, have been with all the last drivers of nvidia

I found them and removed OS_TYPE Vista in all he profiles I saw them in. I may have messed up though as nhancer says I there is another fault in the .xml file. I may have deleted to many things. Need to go check out the nhancer forum.

Did they happen to fix that 'widescreen' bug for those of us using 1440*900? I'd hate to have to remove good drivers just to see if installing them, I go back to scrolling the desktop.

Excuse me for the noobish questions.

What do you mean by CP? There has been a lot of discussion about CP in this thread.... just wanted to understand what was it about.

You mean, 93.71 has ntune and the drivers in one package?

What is pink overlay..... and source games?? :O

I've meant the "new" Control Panel -> http://www.ixbt.com/video2/images/fw90/cpl_main.png

I never used it, so for me it's not a big loss, but users who don't know how to restore the old one, they cant access they quality settings, video and other functions of they cards.

Imho it's an audio issue, I've a cheaper Audigy and it don't copes well with 64+ audio channels. So based on my experiences with audio issues, I would draw a conclusion, that onboard audio won't work that good either.

As cheap as an X-Fi XtremeGamer's Version card is these days, there's no reason not to get one :D

    It's worth it.
