Maybe because you are using an older version of Rivatuner?
    Try the latest one.

  2. I'm using RC 15.2 downloaded on 10/20. As far as I know this is the latest one.

Where is your logic? Why do you expect to see something different from "none" in "SW/HW units mask", if you have 16x1,6vp config _by_default_? You have a natural 6800U/GT GPU with no masked units. It seems to be ROM strapped 6800U, as its hardwired PCI DeviceID is 0x40.

I have an eVGA 6800 Limited Edition that shows "256-bit NV40 (A1, 16X1, 6vp) with 256MB DDR" in the device custimization toolbar. I am trying to find out if this card is disabled and how.

Why isn't "GPU units mask" shown?

Since I have a 6800 Limited Edition and paid 1/2 of the price of an Ultra, it seemed too good to be true.

And before I flash to an Ultra or GT bios and void the waurantee, I wanted to be sure.

    Thanks, Unwinder.

Does this mean I can forget about softmodding my card??

No, it doesn't. The thread you've replied in is about RC15.1, which had not harware masked units enabling feature. However, you can do it with 15.2.

I also purchased an eVga 6800 limited edition. It has 256MB DDR3 ram, and has the ultra cooler (Takes up two slots). You can get one for about $325 off newegg. RT 20RC152 displays the following in stock configuration:

What are the ROM strappings for the NU, GT and Ultra?
When RT report says: Hardwired ID : 0040 (ROM strapped to 0041) What does that mean?

Is there any reason why I shouldn't just try to load an ultra bios vs. overclocking the core to 400?

What would you do if you had this card?
    Thanx.

nv40 12x1 5v is what I am seeing when riva tuner identifies the bfg 6800 oc card I now have installed, does the fact I am seeing only the SW masked units mean I cannot unlock any more pipes ?

or can I unlock some with a hope of success ?
