    Hi,

    just dl'ing.
Viral, have you removed your old driver correctly?

Strange that it resolved the fan-issue for Hilbert but didn't for you.
Or maybe its because you have different FX-cards ... hm

Anyways, i will test them in a few minutes and tell you my findings.
Unfortunatly (not for me though) i have watercooling and can't
say heck about the fan-issue for myself ...

do yourself a favor and do your homework first.

Start out here. Read the whooooole thing.

*edit: didnt see you had a 5200 - you should upgrade, but just make sure you research before you buy. *

When I D/L these from MSI and from here and compare them, the ones from here have an additional file: "extract.bat"

It's there when the files are extracted from the 7zip archive.

Is this just something that is added when the files are 7zipped?

    Just curious...

These drivers solved my Battlefield1942 DesertCombat Mod Graphic problems :D I'm very happy, but IQ is not so good as the 52.16 drivers.

  5. 3dm2k3?!?

Heck with anything else, do these drivers score the same on the 3.40 build of 3dm2k3 or do they score comparable to the 3.30 build?!?!? ;)

    Ok,

tried them a little now :)

    Two thumbs up i'd say.

BF graphical glitches are gone! Nomore missing geometrie or garbled
textures in El Alamein nor in Gazala.

Performance seems to be on 52.16-level, but i cant tell exactly as my
results with 52.16 where before i did a fresh XP-install. But it realy
    looks quite similar.

And imagequality has actualy improved for me in a special case.

The 52.16 limited the AF to 2x on texture stages 1-7 if AF was chosen
in the drivermenue. Only texture stage 0 was filtered with the
    setting from the driver.

    This 'optimisation' is gone.
Now, no mater if an application chooses AF or if you force AF in the
drivermenue, all texture stages are filtered as requested!

Only the tril. filter has still the reduced tri-band (brilinear).
If NVIDIA gets rid of that, or at least gives us a button to choose
between correct trilinear or brilinear, everything would be perfect!

Also I was using 2x anisotropic filtering

Still pitiful performance, but it's an improvement none the less, if there's improvements like this every driver release then it could stack up to being more playable. Also note I'm only using pixel shader 1.1, but I still gained performance, I never benchmarked with ps 2.0, but the increase could be even higher than the 1fps than I got.

Also noted is that refresh fix programs now work on 640x480,800x600, and 1024x768 again, no more forcing to 75hz instead of what you specified, which REALLY bothered me so much I wanted to go use 45.32.

The AGP settings page works like a charm now, before it'd have the slider on pci mode no matter what, and when I'd change any of the options I'd get an insta-blue screen, but now I can change the AGP rate and toggle SBA, no reboot or anything, it's instant, it also automatically has the slider on the current setting.

Too bad the Tenebrae engine still has some severe shadow image quality problems, but a slight IQ bug in Fuhquake was resolved, which is really nice because it was sort of annoying, a thin rectangle on the wall would sometimes flicker and it'd show the skybox through the wall.

Some stuttering issues were also fixed and my minimal framerates in all my games seems to have increased.

Max payne 2 runs slightly faster, but the temperature has increased. 46-49 degrees at boot, and about 56 degrees while playing games

Decided to give these a try since I have an MSI board (even tho I have a GF4, not an FX...I'd been holding off trying new drivers for this reason). Can't make it through a single run of UT2K3 bench. Lockups, corrupt textures/polygons (it looks like a severely OC'd card--running at stock speeds).
Uninstalled, ran DC 2, reinstalled 45.23's, and STILL can't make it through a run of UT2K3 bench. Runs better than 52.70's but not like it did before!!
Boo--hoo; should've left well enough alone...

Err nm the loop on reply aparently the quick reply works, when i tried to log in,it keeps takin me to a blank page.

And when i try to Dload the Drivers,i keep getting sent in circles,if i hit the back buttoni get torn web pages and and eventually no page at all.

Is this just happening to me??

All i can say is no problems here with my fan, install or anything else. I did pray that some driver out there would be released to make my card work better. Looks like my prayers have been answered. Now i wonder if i should cancel that 5900 on order? NA!!
